What we have to look at with Eskom and other vrfb contracts is not the direct technology profits to be made but that it could take out a quarter our production very quickly. This can significantly tighten the V market further and V prices to our benefit, but agree we might not see a the SP doubling on the news etc straightaway.
It keeps me sane not having expectations on Eskom contracts being a direct cash cow but thinking of the longer game played with vanadium supply. Have a read through BBN's posts this year and it gets you very excited about what lays ahead.

If it all goes to plan then this a multi-bagger and people shouldn't be disheartened that it hasn't happened in 2 years etc as some take years.

Hopefully any future upfront fee is advertised in the RNS with our new CEO looking to win over shareholders.
There were too many games being played with regards to Ebers, Vistagen and Oxillo, when they chose not to disclose any figures. We need transparency after losing so much sentiment over the last year.

I suspect any new deposits will increase production costs while we know from FM the production cost will reduce as production increases.

Largo - under 8 years life of mine now. If they can investigate satellite deposits they can increase another 12 years.
We just do not know what the future holds there.

I also had thought along with Chinese plant losing 1000mtV through 2 months maintenance. BMN themselves are contributing to the tight supply this year by closing Vametco for 35 days also. Hopefully any stock is held until large orders can be fulfilled at a later date for higher prices using Vametco as an excuse from partners if needs be. $$$

Don't know Scary, this is more painful than an ingrown atm. No deals since September so feels like whatever news they have is being dragged to the end of the quarter. Hoping for green shoots this month though.

I agree Lindon seems an own goal from the outside. Plus we were expecting this to be completed in 2020 which doesn’t help. The company themselves provide these targets that keep getting missed. Thankfully Fortune has addressed this and I feel he will over-deliver this year to make up for it.

What we don’t know is the nature of the external investment into the project. The consortium may have a relationship with Abengoa or Abengoa themselves have put themselves forward and profit from the revenue generation so no upfront costs etc. At least it won’t hit BMN’s balance sheet.

My only gripe is topped up at 19p not 18p now. All because I thought there was no way this SP is dropping with the rises in V.

Agree on both sides of the coin. Everyone is disappointed with the SP disconnect but everyone here also knows that the penny will drop and FM has also pulled out some blinders. A bit like Rocky pulling off a blinder vs Ivan Drago. We have been used as a punchbag for the last 10 rounds but FM will deliver the knockout blow eventually.
Luckily we are safe as a business from the energy side and SP should be double just as a miner. Would probably boost the SP if we just said we mine and process V, as the simpletons understand that more.

The main point is they have not had enough experience in vrfbs to be our partner in the eskom tender, as they have never fitted a vrfb or had the many years experience required.
They might have experience in the PV/molten salt projects in SA but this isn’t the prescribed tech on the EA papers.

Just want to add incase people are panicking about Abengoa with regards to other future projects, that they are only involved in the PV side of the Mini-grid and nothing else has been disclosed.
The Eskom BESS is only related to battery energy storage and the partner would be a mature VRFB company like Rongke to pass the regulatory loopholes and not Abengoa. Looking at their history in energy storage they don't seem to have many projects and more importantly no other VRFBs.

For me V prices and any of the Eskom BESS tender is the target to boost the SP still.

Market is red everywhere so good to ignore daily fluctuations.

Looking back on 2018, Vametco produced 2560 mtV at an average price of $76 kg/FeV.
At 4450 mtV this year I think $40 kg/feV average should warrant the same 2018 highs as a sensible level on sales to the V industry with an extra plant added since then.
I'm ignoring VIP and BE and I understand markets do not follow common sense straight away until sentiment builds. Double of the current SP this year if it hits $40 is not an unreasonable shout or ramp based on the fundamentals above. Even though it should be a lot lot more, based on other activities as well. Now imagine if we just got one VRFB contract from Eskom....just one transforms the identity of the company.

I said I wouldn't top up here to diversify a little but couldn't help a couple of grands worth. When the market cap is the value of the two plants and nothing else, it seems a no brainer.

No Fishy consensus is that these websites might take time to heat up after CNY to give us a true reflection of V prices.
Actual demand should still be high if there is a deficit building and we will find out shortly.

The general documentation is old but the EA sign-off is from the 4th of February as I mentioned. This will be the reason why the page was updated.
The project cannot go ahead without this so hoping after the 20 day objection period which should end on the 24th they can announce the winning bidder! Thats my hope anyway..
