I agree with you Krakenoil that it is very frustrating AB always keen on maximize the unceartainty. It is for me very obvious he is not interested in an improving shareprize. Hopefully finally he will be satisfied about the size of his stake in the company. When that day arrives I am pretty sure we will see a new AB. A AB that works for all shareholders and try to maximize the returns for all shareholders.
07-Jan-22 06-Jan-22 Buy John Winterman 20.20 GBX 200,000 229,694
11-Jan-21 11-Jan-21 Buy Farina Khan 13.50 GBX 200,000 200,000
I still see the buy from John Winterman as very positive. If the operational update will be negative why not buying after the update? Last year the buy from Farina Khan had good timing.
Brentprice remains strong. Hopefully Jeffrey Currie is right when forcasting Brent to reach 100 dollars in July or August.
MSE sold 1,8 million shares in Stockholm today. That is the main reason our share were down. Yesterday MSE bought 2,1 million shares, thats why we raised yesterday. The algo from MSE many times make very strange trades. Yesterday I could understand that the buy beacause they were 2 million shares minus since monday and last week. But today when Brent was raising they could have hold their shares. Why selling in panic the day after buying. For me it makes no sence. I have heard explanitions about their buys and sells is to compensate for their derivate products in Enquest. That explanition I do not beleive in. There is minilongs and minishorts in Enquest but very few people trade them. If we are lucky the API tonight is good. If Brent continues raising and some other brokers go on buying shares tomorrow the MSE algo probably will start buying again and we could have huge improvement. Actually for a long time holder the most important is the development of Brent. Sooner or later the shareprice will catch up if Brentprice continue to be favourable. I say like hmh it is when we have Brent in 100 dollars Enquest will become a beast.
Today MSE selling around one million shares in Stockholm. FOR and IEGG go on buying. The good thing is when FOR and IEGG buying they keep their shares. MSE is normally very shorttimetrading. When MSE buy back and FOR and IEGG go on buying the shareprice easily will gain 1 p.
I understand that they can not do buybacks at the moment. Still I find it is interesting to think of the future and how to allocate the capital to maximize the shareholdervalue. When the time is coming, (12-24) months from now I hope there will be a combination of sharebuybacks and dividend.
I really looking forward to the day Enquest starts buybacking shares.
In Canada there is a rule that say the company can buyback maximum 7 % of the shares.
Do anyone know on this board if there is the same rule in London and Stockholm?
It is easy to see the positive impact the buybackprogrammes have on the stockprice.
IPC that is traded in Toronto and Stockholm have strarted a program buybacking 7 % of all stocks in one year.
The stockprice improved 35 % since starting.
If Enquest could do the same it would be around 133 millions of shares in one year or around 600000 shares every day.
With an average shareprice of 4 SEK it would cost Enquest around 60 millions dollars.

With the ongoing backwardation I actually hope that we do not hedge more than we need to do.
In the operational update it would be nice if AB give us the BE for free cashflow again.
At the moment I feel very optimistic about our share.
IF Currie is right when saying we are in the beginning of a commodity supercycle we all longtime holders will be greatly awarded in the next years.
