The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
When the rights issue gets voted through* the world will be in a different place (Hopefully) with restrictions on travel having targeted end dates and people actively looking to book holidays after Christmas. No country will be heading into the summer with unlimited travel bans still hanging over their holidaymakers.
*I assume it will
Anotherbadday1 - Because the price has already fallen. Unless you believe there's a huge number of big TUI investors who haven't heard the news about the RI and as soon as they do they will sell off all their shares. Why would the price fall again apart from the normal ups and downs of the market.
Its great for Ryan Air - hes struck an incredible deal on these planes. Well under half normal price. Will people fly on them. Yes because they wont know they're 737Max's. Are they likely to crash - No - theyve addressed the problem. I speak as an aircraft safety consultant BTW.
Youve got to be a very pessimistic sort of investor if you think that now we have three proven vaccines and an pandemic that is naturally on the wane - how we could enter into another protracted lock down. That the risk to TUI - but youve got to admit at this juncture it seems hard to imagine.
The price we see today is the base going forward - with the rights issue factored in. It will increase of course if the travel sector gets good news and fall slightly if we get further unexpected delays to the resumption of normal life. TUI is the largest holiday company on the planet and its now financially secure and can cope with ongoing delays comfortably.
I presume the option to buy the rights will come after this meeting in January.
"The subscription price for the rights issue will be 1.07 euros per share, raising 509 million euros net of fees. Shareholders will need to sign off the rights issue at an extraordinary general meeting in January".
Speaking as an Aviation Safety Consultant its worth pointing out that the safest aircraft are normally those that have had a shocking accident and then poured over by thousands of engineers and consultants to make sure it doesnt happen again. The fault that led to this accident was a simple failure to properly analyse the results of the software for this system failing. The system itself is relatively simple - it was badly implemented without the correct level of integrity. That said - I think the 737max has now got a terrible reputation that will be hard to live down.
Gotta say this share will be like a brick on a piece of elastic. How are we going to fuel big plant equipment, haulage, combine harvesters. Take a look on the average road and let me know how many teslas you see, and you can bet every single owner has a normal car at home. Oil producers arent going anywhere. If anything this Covid Pandemic has reduced exploration and investment. Oil will fling back, aggressively too.
THis share is like a brick on a piece of elastic. At some point reality will kick back in the price will start to reflect real life and not this alternative reality. Good point Bigbad - this is a bet where you get to have a stake in the same race everyday.
Im always amused at the doom merchants on social media saying that the UKs approach to Covid will mean we will be prevented from going on holiday to places like spain and greece etc for months even years. If you think the Governments of those countries are willing to prevent billions of UK Tourist Pounds entering their economy - Ive got a bridge to sell you. You will be amazed how quickly these places will suddenly find a new confidence in why they can let us back. Things will start to move very quickly in the next few weeks.
Just read this and thought - wow this could be a big for Kromek very big. Very impressive - bio threats will be the next big thing after people realise how effectively Covid has held the world to ransom.
"18 months on, Kromek has come up trumps. In fact once finished, using state-of-the-art RNA/DNA sequencing, the solution will be able to continuously monitor & collect airborne microbes, which are condensed into single droplets of water. The samples are then genetically coded, with results available in <60 minutes. Not only detailing exactly what families of viruses & bacteria are present, but also which specific strain or mutation".
FF has always lacked any sort of PR push or health champion to fight its corner. Shame really as Im sure if it got into the public consciousness it would become a real success story. Its one of the few health foods that has serious science behind it that says it works !!!!
