It's actually good news when you look at the bigger picture. If you recall, Marc mentioned during the investor one-to-one that there was interest from institutional investors. At that time, the share price was below 2p.
Marc and the team have made it clear that they want institutional investors on the register, but they also want to minimise dilution. Because of that, I suspect they've been waiting for a stronger share price before pursuing any deal, and that may be one of the reasons we've seen such a sharp rise over the past few weeks.
Not all placings are equal. I remember SML doing something similar during its run-up, and it actually helped build momentum because the involvement of an institutional investor brought additional confidence to the market. It also helps establish a floor under the share price, which can be important for attracting new investors.
At the current market cap, the level of dilution from a placing at these prices would be relatively minimal, making it a far more attractive proposition than raising funds at significantly lower levels.
