It does seem weird, but if it is positive news then I don't mind if they announce it from space at 3am on a bank holiday Friday :)
I have Switzerland (July), Iceland (October) and Florida (December) all booked up with BA - hoping the latter 2 are certainties for going ahead, still holding out hope for July too!

So are we expecting any sort of travel update on Monday, or is it going ahead on the 12th as originally planned?

Yup, just a case of sitting and waiting for me now. Also in EZJ and RR, hope to have some serious profit by August/September!

As countries vaccinate more and more people, case numbers are irrelevant. By summer, we will have fully vaccinated the vulnerable population so foreign travel is inevitable at some point this summer. It may be later than expected but it is going to happen at some point. Sitting at a slight loss, but holding until travel opens up and this share soars.

What are you suggesting? It is always the 5th. Fiscal year starts the 6th

Exactly MisterA. Even with bad news in May (or even further ahead), air travel will resume at some point. It is my opinion that IAG are as well positioned as anyone to weather the storm so there are major gains to be had whether its this year or next.
In a world where IAG collapse, I think we will have far more sinister things to worry about than losing chunks of our stock portfolios!

Managed to make some decent profit "trading" IAG and EasyJet over the last few weeks. Not got the nerve any more so IAG position (6100 shares @ average price of about 207 now) is being held until air travel resumes, whenever that may be.
It's a guaranteed return if left, just need to hold my nerve!

HL emailed me saying my account would be credited with the rights on the 17th and I will have until the 22nd to act on them.

Either that or you can sell your rights. But yes, doing nothing would mean you lose out.

I got an email saying they will credit our accounts with our rights on Thursday this week. Not sure how this will look in practice but they will be in touch

For anyone asking about taking up rights on HL:

Full correspondence with details on how you can take part in this Rights Issue will be sent once the Prospectus has been published and the Rights are received.

how do we know how to take up the options then? will the ask price just show as approx. 80p on our accounts during the rights period?
