My thoughts, each to their own. But if your reasoning is right, why didn’t NM assay those cores and release them? He’s had 6months+ to do so.

I’m sure he is. Not much value in releasing some nice near surface gold assays amidst a pandemic and before the CGP bid was in. It actually made sense for Solgold to finalise the bid at a low sp, and having done so release news that increases the sp and by so doing make the CGP offer more attractive. And what better way to do that is by releasing some assays on a new deposit that CGP have much less exposure to, rather than part of ENSA.

If he releases good assays now, and gets the funding sorted, the CGP offer might look very attractive all of a sudden.

That’s really why everyone’s excited - Solgold suddenly (for the first time in ages) have both a tactical and strategic reason to release SP-impacting news and substantially increase the company value. Tactically, that’s not been true until now.

The BHP standstill agreement ending too really does make this quite compelling.

Check the RNS from November 15th last year - drilling with a man portable drill, some gold intercepts, but as far as I know have not been assayed yet (or not released anyway), and drilling was stopped early 2020 (whether for Covid, or not wanting to release data to the market yet, IDK)

Agreed, I think we’ve seen enough from some big CGP shareholders to know the way that conversation is going! But you never know, depends on what happens between now and October I guess. Whatever their response in the next couple of weeks.

Personally, I’m confident they’ll close the financing soon enough, which will be a relief. But the thing I’m most excited about is to see what the drills turn up. Remember the excitement of Alpala drill 5? Some more of that please!

Back to subject - what do we think will come first, a) pi $$y rebuttal from Cornerstone board, b) confirmation of Franco deal, or c) shiny cores extracted from one of the other tenements..?

This bid has really stirred the pot, finally! Seems to me NM has done well to line so much up in a really coordinated way - Bid For cornerstone, major offtake funding (tbc, presumably fairly soon), PFS, BHP brakes off... now if we get a few Stella drill cores from another tenement or two (and you don’t think NM knows fairly well what he might expect and where) that CGP don’t currently have exposure to, that will make accepting the bid look like a much better deal.

This could turn out to be a very interesting few months indeed. Take your seats ladies and gentlemen :)

Another report of an infill drill at Alpala, sure. A “we are pleased to announce a drill returning x hundred metres of high grade stuff close to the surface” on a second site would be a very different matter indeed.

another £4.8m in the coffers, £200k from Mather. At this levels unless it's an existing investor close to a threshold I doubt we'll find who else was involved, but you never know.

Onwards and upwards. Time to get some drills in the ground and the finance deal finalised.
