gggg21: my little screed was aimed at comparing the commenters, not the companies. If your mind wasn't clouded with mindless aggression, you'd probably have seen this for yourself. Which, I feel, makes my point.

This is starting to resemble CTAG from a few years back. I had no skin in the game, but a good friend of mine had invested heavily and tried to "do me a favour" by getting in before the price soared.

I had a look at the forum, and didn't like what I saw. Everybody patting each other on the back and planning what they were going to do with their riches. If anybody suggested "yes, but maybe it ain't so?" they were dogpiled by the True Believers. One member responded to every post suggesting that CTAG wasn't quite right with the snappy reply "Filtered". He was proud of the fact that he'd filtered over 150 contributors.

In other words, they didn't want to hear anything but good news. And when it went belly-up, anyone suggesting that they should have listened a bit more was accused of "gloating". Some people can't be helped.

In this game, you need to be a realist. Pessimists won't be playing anyway, but there are far too many optimists and magical thinkers who believe that everything's going to come good just because they want it to.

Maybe Si_Woolstead is wrong. Maybe he's lying. But maybe, just maybe, he's right. Please consider that before sneering at him. It's not big, and it's certainly not clever.

To those who say the SP should be up higher than this on the news, a quick history lesson.

SML went from 0.39p in mid-December 2016 to over 3p in May 2017 - an 8- or 9-bagger. It was very noticeable that the SP very rarely went up 10% in a day. Day after day, we were seeing 6%, 7%, 8%, sometimes even 9%. During the day it would often go up 15-20%, but drop back down before close.

I'd be happy to see the same thing this time - 8% a day for 6 months, anybody? :)

I had a spare £3,500ish to put into SML this morning. I was about to buy at 1.82, but stopped. So many times with this share, I've bought only to see the price drop sharply.

So - buy price 1.82, sell 1.733. Let's be cheeky and order 200,000 at 1.72! A few hours later, they're mine - with a buy price of 1.69!!!

I'd have happily paid 1.82, so even if the price drops further, I'm still counting it as a gain of over £250. A good way to start what I hope will be a good week. GLA

Mine too - I had a couple of buys set up for 1.6p - they both went through together at 1.587. Less than ten minutes later, it bottomed out at 1.52. Whoever bought that was very lucky - ten minutes after that it was back at 1.62!

I've been with this share for over four years now, and I still can't get it right!

I think the Anonymous Seller is the guy who's been hitting the SP all along with those periodic half-million sales, presumably pushing the price down so he can buy back at a profit. I don't know whether he's made much during his campaign - the spread's usually so wide that he has to push the price down at least 10% before he makes anything at all on it.

Is today's little effort a last throw of an increasingly-desperate dice? Or has he finally given up and sold out? If he's still playing games, he needs the buy price to go down to 1.52p before he'll show any profit at all (and that would only be £16 - not much reward for a £50,000 bet).

Obviously, I'm hoping that the £5K+ buy I made this morning was the bottom of the market. :)

I had £8k ready for when the price came down to 1.3. Got quite excited when it dropped to 1.32, but didn't quite make it. Such is life...

I didn't do quite so well - bought last week at 1.8, only to see the price drop to 1.74. I'm very used to that happening with this share. A very long time ago I bought at 0.09 (yes, the zeros are correct) - and within a few days saw it drop to 0.06 :( Fortunately I held my nerve...

Right - that's me all-in, with a final �2100. With one holiday, two weddings and three birthdays coming up, I'm not going to have any more spare cash until around August. So, whoever's been sitting there with their thumb on the scales can take it off RIGHT NOW, please...

Or possibly the conversation went like this: "Ok, ok, I'll resign. But you owe me - my contract states £800K compensation for loss of office." "Fine - you can take it in shares <snerk>"
