(And more recently Rrbs' warnings too, but to be fair, he was a bit late to the party).

CAML is a great company, but too niche and small scale to be the target of a takeover.

I'm with Tobethe best on this. LTBH is a thing of the past (since 2008 has been a bad strategy as far as I'm concerned). RIO like a number of FTSE 100 companies trades at least a couple of times a year (and certainly at least once every three years) between peak and trough spread of at least 10%. As some stocks are hitting highs, others will be dipping, BATS for example lately have been near their highs, RIO has hit a trough. Even if you get your timing wrong, and you're sitting on a stock for couple of years you're still picking a decent dividend. Of course, the market can and often is overtaken by 'events', but I still think buying in with an exit strategy is more profitable over the past two decades than the LTBH strategy.

Hurricanes tend to have that effect. You should be more concerned about any damage done to DEC infrastructure. Their gas fields took a direct hit.

Terry, I promise, I will stop posting, and admit that I was 100% wrong, when this share once again reaches it's high of £28.00. Now that was a mere two years ago, so I'm sure it won't bee too long now until it hits its' highs once more. After all, this company has made acquisition after acquisition, that have done nothing less than to add the daily production output and profit of this company. It's all about asset accretion for the right company at the right time. Amirite ?

This, plus his career in banking and finance, means he knows how to play that system too. On a much much smaller scale, but here in the UK we have guys who will come and take away the waste you'd have to pay to have removed legitimately, but for a fraction of the cost. They then lease an industrial unit, fill it with said waste, and abandon it.

In this case, rusty is the guy who collects the waste, DEC is the dumping ground that will leave investors with ZERO.
