bigeye - and your proof please?
aerial - what is the point of that post?
bigeye - no - show me the post where I explicitly used the phrase "liar" in relation to anyone on this board, or any other boards I've posted on?
As the facts stand, the only person I remember using that word on here is you.
Bigeye - It's no play on words. I never called Aerial a liar, although I believe you have used that phrase to me in the past?
What's the difference then between accusing someone of lying and telling someone they are factually wrong? Or are you saying they are the same?
Bigeye - so answer my question then - yes or no
So accusing someone of lying is the same as telling someone they are factually wrong?
aerial - no, you were just wrong. Surely you agree we want factually correct information on the board?
It's not about arrogance - just reflecting on the, what was it, four posts in five or so minutes bashing my factual post on the climate.
Perhaps it's that sort of flippant and dismissive response to a factual post that is arrogant.
bigeye - "That is just a play on words"
Really?
So accusing someone of lying is the same as telling someone they are factually wrong?
aerial - of course. Learning is an integral part of being intelligent.
We all make mistakes, even you, but it's how we learn from them.
The name calling on here is quite obvious. It doesn't need me to point it out.
And so we get to the name calling.
aerial - it's not my opinion your facts were wrong. You were wrong.
I've posted the facts. You seem to have a problem accepting the facts.
It's very easy to refer to snippets of a post "people's opinions are irrelevant though" - if your on abut something I posted back in August this was to do with AM and a jam tomorrow thread and the fact that it's the market that needs convincing.
It's worth setting the context before quoting parts of posts.
Bigeye - I didn't say Aerial lied - he just got his facts incorrect.
aerial - you know what they say about assumption. Implies, suggests? I'd like to see the facts that support that view.
It should be far less of an effort to go through my posts than yours - and you mentioned the 21,000 in your post of 13:01 - I was simply using your number.
And you keep going on about your belief that I'm not invested - that's your view based on nothing more than assumption and lack of facts and it's incorrect. I know the facts, I know how much I'm, still, underwater and that is all that matters to me.
Like I said, find me a post where I have explicitly said what you have posted is a lie. Perhaps using facts to support your views, assumptions, suggestions etc might be a good start.
aerial - where exactly have I said you have posted an "untruth", or are you simply twisting my words?
You'll set me a task to go through 21000+ posts - yeh, right. When I'm retired with naff all else to do I might have the time to do it. If you posted less about the number of buys we get, not long now etc, it might be far easier to select the wheat from the chaff.
Your comment was about saying "what suits" - let's see what gets posted on here the next time we get a blue day.
aerial - that is one funny post. I've missed your sense of humour recently on here.
Saying what suits but not necessarily the truth - you are pulling my leg aren't you?
No need to respond.
Esquimo - absolutely; intelligence comes from continual learning - the ability to listen, digest and accept facts, learn from informed views, be flexible and embrace change etc
esquimo - I'm not convinced Oscar Wilde was wholly correct. Wisdom doesn't necessarily follow age.
Sausage - could you send that list to me professionally via LinkedIn please? I can then have my own chuckle.
You might need to send it via Alistair though, as you and I aren't directly connected.
aerial - if that post is in response to mine to esquimo then perhaps consider that humans have a dynamic brain that gives them the ability to learn and adjust their behaviours from events that happen around them.
I have learnt - when was the last time I called anyone a name on here?
I think there's also a saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
esquimo - no chinks in my armour.
Esquimo - see if you can guess the answer from my perspective Two letters, sounds a bit like slow....??
