extract from the accounts
The objectives of JDP 1 and 2 were for Verditek and Paragraf to grow large scale (e.g. 3x3cm) graphene surfaces directly on photovoltaic ("PV") Proof of Concept ("PoC")chips and eventually entire industrial PV wafers (15x15cm). During JDP1 several challenges were addressed pertaining to industrial PV wafer surface roughness, finding optimum growth conditions to balance chemical bonding (adhesion) with delocalization of electrons (conduction), determine the graphene transparency vs. build-up of electrical properties, and the creation of defect-free surfaces.
The main goals were divided into work programs to demonstrate that by replacing the metallic busbars with graphene we can improve the performance of PV wafers by:
· increasing the efficiency by removing the topside busbar shading of the PV surface
· increase the efficiency by harvesting electrons from the entire topside surface
· Improve the robustness of the wafer due to the physical resilience of graphene
In the course of JDP 1 and 2 we have managed to accomplish the following deliverables:
· Successfully design conditions to grow graphene on an industrial grade mono-silicon PV wafer PoC with good adhesion and demonstrate a reliable I/V curve (conductance)
· Confirm that the methodology could control the deposition of graphene in layers
· Develop in-house methods to reliably measure graphene defect and conductance under illumination of the PoCs
· Extended growth to an entire 15.6 x 15.6mm wafer and have measured current flow
· Investigated methods to try and re-order the silicon wafer surface to provide a better template for graphene growth
· Improve the silicon to graphene to metal contact by investigating and selecting metal paste formulations to manage the conductance of charge across the Si-G-M interface
· Perform physical modelling of the graphene interface to better understand bonding
· Confirm the current density that could be harvested by a transparent Graphene layer
The outcomes of JDP's 1 & 2 have demonstrated positive results and potentially interesting applications for graphene in solar technologies. The Companies are currently exploring the next joint development program, JDP3, to continue the progress of graphene enhanced solar cell products.
due besides any news on sales success..... still waiting
I obviously agree with questioning the sales and VDTK but you chose to demonstrate sales by Manufacturers of panels - not reflecting the whole commercial end sales - which is where the impact is regarding COVID and end customers.
Don't tell me that this proves commercial sales to end customers - Supply chain sales are just that - pipeline to end customers where the demand has been devastated........
not sure as to why you posted that.
I do not know if Verditek would be classed as PV module manufacturers for example. Their manufacturing process is to buy the manufactured cores (I think) and then construct / assembly - coat and finish to provide a lightweight - flexible - durable green solution .
Sales and Marketing
During the year the Company put in place various routes to market, including commission only sales agents, employed sales consultants and distributors. Their efforts have led to a significant pipeline being built up, however many of these have been slow to close for various reasons including the current pandemic.
The most disappointing delay was the SAF ****stan order announced in 2020 that was put on hold due to the funding being redeployed by regional government to support the COVID-19 efforts. At this stage we do not know whether the project will resume or not.
We developed two PowerMat solutions, whereby panels are joined together and housed in a shipping container for use in differing locations. The fabrication of a 75kWp re-deployable PowerMat for a project in Eastern Australia is now complete.
Furthermore, we have developed a second demonstration model in Dubai which is currently undergoing commissioning before being dispatched to various sites for client proof-of-concept testing.
We are discussing with a number of prospects in the Oil & Gas, Mining, and Civil Defence arenas for the deployment of this solution.
"ramptastic" - must look that up - maybe too technical even for me.......
for your insight
process - lightweight panels which are assembled and coated to enable a durable product which maintains it's level of performance overtime whilst operating in an external environment - one argument is that they are not tied to specific panels - hence the re-certification they are undertaking on improved performance panels - still we need to see the products success reflected in commercial sales.........
their IP is with Paragraf is it not?
Solar cell efficiency improvement – Verditek
Traditional solar cells have effectively reached their maximum level of efficiency, at around 23-24%. Improvements of <0.5% are considered highly significant. Performance is constrained by the metal mesh used to disperse current across the cell, and protect it from damage. The shading effect of the mesh prevents around 3% of the surface area from absorbing light.
Depositing optically transparent, highly conductive graphene directly onto the solar cell surface facilitates current dispersal and eliminates shading. In principle, this will improve solar cell efficiency by 3%. Paragraf is working in partnership with Verditek, which is supplying solar cells for graphene deposition. A project to prove the principle has been completed, and a further Joint Development Partnership has now been agreed to advance the technology for the first large-scale graphene silicon solar cell.
read about graphene and also how they are trying to still cover R&D - product placement and certification - growth market and positioning - as we all know - alot of potential but can they generate commercial sales ? - Covid has surely provided a hurricane headwind - so Jury is still out.... we wait and see......
we still wait for Sales to pull through to commercially prove this company - graphene application still be developed but no timelines stated - focus should be on Market penetration more than R&D to prove the business - we will see if the market growth will be reflected within Verditek's sales figures over the next few months......
makes sense at this stage - alleviate the anxiety regarding funding and placing - another way to look at this....
Verditek have a lightweight solar panel solution which can offer a solution which is more durable and efficient with the operating environment. Not tied to a patented product but adding value by process (compiling tailored solutions and with "best in class available" from suppliers they are now about to "reposition" their configured product to the target customers/markets accordingly - will take time to position themselves but they have just organised a way and means to do so without the likelihood of immediate further dilution? ........
she has got legs..........
Graphene update lol
thanks for putting it into a clearer perspective
can drive the SP down by 6% - sad to see...............
Shareholders having to do the "leg work" on any progress at present..... tut tut
