My shares are on an online account. When I check all I see is the notification of sale. When will the vote take place? Thanks

Can anyone tell me what happens when the merger is due to complete? My online trading account says that no action is required on my part - does that mean I will get shares in new company or will I be sent market value for my holding? Thanks

I've yet to hear of anyone who got their certificate! My post in May read: "Must be typical of this company / registrar. Both a colleague at work and I bought shares in Emerald a year between each other. We got our original certificates, but never received updated paperwork when shares were exchanged 1 for 100. Both of us rang, and the registrars were adamant that we would have got updated paperwork. Neither of us did. As I was in process of transferring all my paper certs to an online trading account, I had to cough up £35 for a 'duplicate' certificate." I bought circa 97 also. Think around 2003/04 shares were exchanged 1 for 100, so your holding is probably around 19 (ie no great change in price over last 12 years!). I have these as a bottom drawer share that one day I will come back to them and they will have rocketed (some chance). I assume like me (or anyone else I know who had a small holding) that you never got your new certificate. Registrar swears blind that it would have been posted, yet no one I know got one. Had to pay £35 to replace a certificate I never got (I still had my original). Your shares are probably worth around £100 now, but by the time you pay fees etc, not sure worth your while selling now - hang on another 12 years!!!

Irish government has luxuory of not having to call general election for at least another 2 years. This is giving markets some comfort as it removes (for time being) uncertainity of what a new government may do.
