Yes the company is there to make money for itself and shareholders but the sentiment from a majority is that theyll ditch once they have made enough but its coming across as complete greed...

Why are we stalled here? The day traders have taken around 15% today and shorters will be turning to dust. With the noise coming out re SA and Russia we shpuld see a positive week close, but we may need to ride out the profit taking over the next few days

The people sitting at home working are the people who make the real coin. I was speaking last night to a friend who works in an investment bank and they are hammering on with the trades etc. But one telling thing he said in passing was that he has saved so much money in 3 weeks he could see being able to clear his significant credit card balance shortly.

There will be a return to normality when it happens and itll start slow but id say give it a month or two, everything will be back.

As for TW, theyve mothballed everything and have our dividend cash to ensure the bills get paid etc. And for once I'm happy to forfeit knowing the company is being run responsibly...unlike LLOYDS!!!

With every stage they progress, newcrest diminish GGPs licence holding and will end up with 70%. Sure there's the likelihood of a 5% cash payout at fair market value maybe by year end, but it's likely they'll be able to go ahead without having input from GGP as they'll be a minority shareholder and just have to suck up dividends albeit it'll be a cash cow.
