The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I bought at £26.50 and chickened out at £17.30 taking the loss. Reinvested the residue in K3C and have gone some way to recouping the loss. I keep a watching eye on this, but at the moment tech stocks and jam tomorrow are firmly on the downswing and defensive stocks that make money are on the up. Let's see how long that lasts.
Since when has Polar Capital Tech ever paid a dividend? Surely you have this mixed up with another trust?
"Thought this was a board about oil shares." Not really as UKOG have very little in the way of oil :-) Just a forum for little Englander's with distinctly Trumpian leanings. I bet most of em also thought that Brexit was the answer to absolutely everything that is wrong with the UK. Still nursey will be along with the drugs soon.
"I am sure Mr Buffet already invested here heavily or will do that in near future" Wishful thinking of the highest order. Buffett favours defensive stocks, but he lost an absolute packet selling his stake in Tesco when they crashed, so I would not bet on him entering into the UK market anytime soon. He may still hold GSK ADRs which he bought in 2008 though.
Who cares about Loxley? Surely the sunny uplands for UKOG now lie thousands of miles away in the wastelands of Turkey! Soon Sanderson and chums will be wallowing in barrel loads of Turkish Lira as they ramp up production in their newly prospected oilfields...............or have I got this completely wrong?
Not sure you can even buy Fevertree tonic in Spoons? Firmly in discount Britvic territory or worse more like!
Sorry to burst your balloon Botbot but try reading the scientific studies of Cruise ship Covid 19 transmission routes. This from a recent paper in the Proceedings of the National Sciences (USA) a top rank peer reviewed journal. "We find that airborne transmission likely accounted for >50% of disease transmission on the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which includes inhalation of aerosols during close contact as well as longer range. These findings underscore the importance of implementing public health measures that target the control of inhalation of aerosols in addition to ongoing measures targeting control of large-droplet and fomite transmission, not only aboard cruise ships but in other indoor environments as well. " Not what you want to hear I know but I trust this information rather than hearsay.
If he carries on, Boris's legacy will be that he delivered two crippling blows to the UK economy and it's strategic importance 1. Brexit and 2 Scottish Independence. That and the highest per capita Covid19 death toll in Western Europe. I am no fan of our Nicola, but compared with the fat clown we have in charge, she is at least competent.
Let's face it, Boris at his best was a mildly entertaining buffoon of a journalist with the popular touch but was patently out of his depth even when chairing "Have I got News for You" on the BBC. He should have stuck with that but now (and for the foreseeable) we are stuck with him!
GG. I think you will find yourself in a minority, just like the cowardly senior Tory t***ts currently lining up to criticise the government's own senior health advisor. Witty for PM any day of the week over Boris.
I think you will find that the NT issued on the 15th Dec last gave the SP a huge kick up the backside and having bought in at £1.55 in Nov of that year, I am more than satisfied with progress. This is a bolt on LTH, which also has the advantage of paying a generous dividend. As I said before, chill out!
Christ, you lot are a miserable bunch or what. Get a life, go for a walk tek a drink FCS. Anything but this endless tirade of political and societal negativity. It's like overdosing on Sleaford Mods albums (who are great by the way, but only in moderation).
"But yesterday a video of a fuel pipeline marker was tweeted by at davethedrill1 on twitter. Something that a Major like Shell would take in to consideration when in any discussions as a JV partner for the future. " Shell, UKOG JV for the future........pure comedy gold :-) Keep this up lads as the board had become a bit boring of late ,but this is great stuff . Ooooooh the banter!
