The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
A few months ago it was a shambles, wrong equiptment, machines shaking themselves apart and lest we forget the gold pour that wasn't! Looking back I think this is as good as we could have hoped for. The RNS is clearly a bit sketchy on some of the details that you guys in the know are looking for, but TBH I think it could be a lot worse. Hopefully over the winter months steady production will continue, profits will be made and you never know, there could even be some gold. This time next year Rodders.......
This is really interesting, thank you. Helps someone with no knowledge such as myself understand the process, we know the gold there is basically dust so makes sense. Thanks again. GG
Its positive stuff no? Nice and steady, nothing breaking , the site working as it should, no blatant incompetence. Be nice to know what the outlook is in terms of the plant making a profit, but all things considered I am heartened by this update. Hope you are all well GG
Thanks Eck, that is interesting. I am just going to sit tight and see where we end up but have no real idea of what to even hope for.
appreciate your time!
GG
Hi Everyone, I hope you have all managed to stay safe, well and happy. Things certainly seemed to have settled down at the mine, not a lot of chat about the operation compared to early in the year. I have been enjoying the quiet.
May I ask, if anyone is prepared to say what they ate hoping for share price wise from this. what would you consider to be realistic from where we are now. What would be considdered a success?
Many thanks and best of wishes GG
And we are off!!
Hi Samson. I've just been reading and digesting the infomation in the RNS and the opinions on the board. I have zero knowledge of mining so I rely totally on what you guys say on here. I'm certainly no prophet and was hoping for slightly better news than this. I was expecting to hear that the tech problems have been resolved and that they had finanly started producing. The part about the quality and quantity i find rather troubling, it was clear, even to me that there were serious failings in the management but i was hoping that was limited to the design, instillation of the plant etc. Sadly it sounds like there are deeper problems. Happy to chat and hope everyone keeps their spirits up.
They say sometimes no news is good news, I am fully expecting a better RNS come the end of the month, maybe not triumphant but progress and no more big setbacks.
Not me, I dont have a clue about it TBH. Is it safe, does it even exist? If i cant see it, touch it or even smell it I dont want it.
I think its all going to be fine. Just getting all the bad news out of the way in one go and its steady progress from here on. Keep the faith.
It knocks you for six, that's for sure, but good to get it done. Stay well everyone.
I guess not everyone has the patience of you long termers. Its been good to see a rise thanks to the publicity but what really counts is consistant production, until we get that, I imagine the SP will be up and down like the proverbiale lady of the nights smalls. Lets hope for a good RNS and the site gets running and production starts in earnest. Sustained productin and lockdown easing, it could be a good summer. Fingers crossed!
The Hamilton and Inches website page on Scottish Gold is very nice, the peices are a tad out of my price range but not for plenty of Edinburgh folk I'm sure.
Another great blue day today, almost got my head above water! Amazing what some proper press coverage can do. Hopefully producion starts in earnest and this can really keep momentum.
GLA. GG
What a pleasant surprise logging in today and seeing the SP. Still a way to go for me to be back on an even keel but great progress. Good luck all. GG
I was also going to say that I have seen some really nice photos of inside the plant room this week, so I know its not an empty shed :-) Some very impressive kit, a bit shinier than you would want for mining equipment but hopefully it will be looking well used soon.
Thanks everyone for the explanations and comments, very good to hear the mine costs are in such good shape. Sorry to hear there has been dastedly goings on, I had no idea that sort of thing even happened but I guess it should come as no surprise, someone always tries to ruin the good things hey! It's Friday, sun is shining up here today, no hurcules yet but come 5pm I am sure they will make an apperance. Keep positive and have a good weekend GG
Thank you TB, very informative indeed and great to read that they have such low costs, one less hurdle and all that. Thanks again GG
Hi. RM - I took your advice and checked ADVFN today, it makes a bit more sense now, obviously some ill feeling about which is a shame. One thing I did see and would like an opinion from anyone who may know is regarding this statement from a post on that site -
"The price of gold continues to fall and is now £175 below the £1400/oz level on which the life-of-mine economics are now based"
I have googled this and spent a little bit of time trying to find out if this is true but cant find this magic figure. Seems strange to be able to put an exact figure on the gold price to make a mine viable, there are so many other variables in play. If the gold price drops below this figure do all mines down tools? That said my knowlege of mining is as deep as my knowledge of the stock market so I'm in no place to say.
If anyone knows I would be interested to hear. Thanks GG
I spent some very happy years at the swamp as you call it RH, its not all bad and not everyone there is an evil banker , some very good folk too! Glad I left when I did, its a young mans game but I remember it fondly. Loch Tay you say, previoulsy happy hunting grounds for Salmon but numbers have crashed in recent years, Sturgeon on top!
Hi Rockhead. Not a football man but if I was to be allocated a team based on location I would have been a Gunner (sorry about that.) I do miss the area but very fortunate to be where I am now, especialy in these most testing of times. Our Glorious leader is up inront of the beak today, battle of the fishes continues. Dont tell them your name Pike!
