RE: Energy Policy awaiting signature17 Apr 2026 14:08
From digit again:
Hope this makes sense from last night's interview, many executives are aware this final document is ready for approval, how long that takes is in the lap of the Bangla government, and there's no details on what resources this document relates too…….
"Not much importance was given to bringing foreign investment here. In fact, no work has been done on it in the last 18 months. The previous government had called for a tender. But if there is no political government, investors do not get confidence and do not come. It did not come for logical reasons.
Now the final document is awaiting the government's approval. Do you think that this government should take a quick decision to bring foreign investment along with its own initiative for local resource extraction
Of course. There is no doubt about it. When you make a decision as soon as possible, when you invite foreign entrepreneurs you know that they will jump in and it will not be a proper business case. It will be feasible for them to go into exploration you know very well that if you go into exploration, you will get everything, someone is giving this guarantee, so to take on the challenge that they will take the decision should be given first and after making the decision, if exploration happens, we will get three, four, five. The sooner this decision is given, the better. Besides, as long as our own exploration is not done we are dependent on imported fuel"
