You said 1% of copper in rocks processed. That is wrong, it is 1.5% on average "in the rocks processed", not in the copper recovered.

Seems to me you are confusing the two. When the company quotes 1.5% they are being accurate as are those that dispute your 1%. When they quote output in tonnes they are similarly being accurate. That there are process losses is inevitable. As for those you suggest are expecting 1.5% copper recovered probably should be invested in unit trusts. I have directly challenged the company on Leon's latest pronouncement with regard copper production and expect clarification in due course.

Gray, it is context. Yes, the grades are on average 1.5%; that's not a lie and gives a good indication of how the source compares to what other producers are refining. But no one recovers 100% and the recovered content is generally referred to by absolute amount as that is what is sold and used to calculate revenue, not percentage of that available in the ore which is a pure measure of process efficiency which can be affected by so many things.

As Seis says, what it is, oxide, sulphide, cathode doesn't matter because they are talking about contained copper not the format it is in when they talk about tonnage.
