The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Guro of nothing. You will never get it.FFS ask university students who are a minute% of fashion buyers.Come into the real world of fashion buyers who are not and never will be influenced by environmental issues of fast fashion.Where have you been living, not in the real world that's for sure. You may be the worlds greatest authority on PE,which is another discussion document on its own..so you would have us believe that we should all have a negative approach to bigging up boohoo SP. I was of the opinion that PLT was 66% owned by Boohoo(stand to be corrected).
I am on Market Beat Daily, from the USA.You can select any listed share USA/GB and have daily updates on that share (Boohoo).Several financial analysts were concerned that PLT was performing better than UK.Look I nearly spilt my G&T,do they not realise that the USA has a population 4 times larger that the UK.When concerns me that everytime Boohoo puts out an update or statutory report these financial analysts seem to find negatives instead of positives.I won't bore you or our other PI's with the current numbers put out on the latest update, they speak for them selves.
I suppose we could continue exchanging opinions on Boohoo.I am looking forward to a long and successful future with this share.I have been investing for more years than I maybe should have but I can look at the numbers and external factors and make my open mind up.I think that applies to most PI's.You make you own mind up but leave us all to do the same.Nothing you say will ever convince me that you don't have an alternative adgenda.
As our esteemed fellow poster GoN has been at pains to ram down our throats.1.Bexit,2 threats from fur.As he put theses subjects into our Boohoo share chat domain I thought that I would test these concerns with a bit of old fashioned (no. Pun intended),market research.
1.Brexit,he can bang his drum as loud as he wants, this issue will be resolved at some time in the future.Until then there will be uncertainty in the financial markets, let get over it and move on.
2.Fake fur and his concerns about negative press and reaction from animal lovers re.these issues.
I am presently wintering Spain (please no comments,I am 70 in May and have paid my whack of dues over the years.I texted my eldest son earlier today. He is an engineer employed by a mid size company, mainly engineers, sales, admin and directors).I asked him when he had time during his lunch break if he could ask his workmates who had teenage children or grandchildren if they had any experience of the two points raised continuously raised by GoN.
1.Did their children/grandchildren watch the BBC/ITV/Channel 5 news.
2.To their knowledge did their. children/grandchildren follow any animal cruelty or exploration issues.
In addition I all texted my brother's and sisters and my wife's brothers and sisters who now have numerous female grandchildren and asked them to ask the same questions.I have collated the replies received so far and can no publish the results of the GB jury.
No teenage female children watch the evening news. With regard to animal cruelty or exploitation issues several female teenage children were concerned with issues involving horse cruelty and these were involved with horses since childhood. The recurring theme was that female teenagers who are boohoo target customers were virtually 100% glued to their mobile appliances and the main issues were, boys/men,snap chat, Instagram, Facebook,Facetime, make up,fashion (boohoo?).
In conclusion after studying my snap shot of market research regarding GofN concerns it would appear to me that this yet another example of this person's alertnative adgenda. He is not as he continuously claims to be a Boohoo share
supporter. He is quisling,a third columnist,a derampers,an agent of the MM's and most certainly a shorter.
As a Boohoo shareholder who has been in and out for several years, currently in,I would advise that guruofnothing do one and find alternative doom of gloom targets.I believe in this company it has a great future and I am in for the long journey.
PRMXZ Im surprised that the Ii' investors have not called for a Judicial Review on the whole sorry debacle. If my memory serves me well Gina somebody or other called for a Judicial review on the government being the only body responsible for Brexit.Look where that ended up.RIP the death of democracy.

Look Chancers.I might be dim or even stupid,or the Daily Mail might be dim or even stupid. Why should it be a concern that PLT is responsible for a large proportion of the growth.FFS 40+% growth in the company is all that is important, whether it come from GB,EU,USA or outer space. They are worried about margin, thought it was up,turnover up,the for the rest of the year positive.Boohoo looks to be the winner of the last three months in retail online. We might as well invest in Ocado went from 2.30 to over 10.00 in a matter of months. On the news that they had signed agreements to give It support to overseas (PLT) companies in regard of warehousing and online delivery of groceries.Ocado have NEVER made a profit and may never.Rant over.Neary strated again "Concerns over PLT being responsible for a large proportion of growth" Do leave it out sounds like a rumour made up by "guro of nothing" and the derampers and MM's.."guruofnothing" actually said in a post recently that he was a boohoo supporter.Liar, liar pants on fire..
Before I start this post I will admit that I am looking at a 30 K loss.For.my sins I am a long retired Detective with a Yorkshire Force. There are a few issues that concern me and looking at the subject I will try and address them.No 1Fiduciary. A person or a legal entity(firm, bank, credit union holding assets (cash, property, securities)or information as an agent as an agent in trust for a principal (stockholder, customer, member).A fiduciary owes ( amoungst other obligations) the duty of loyalty, full disclosure, obedience, diligence and of accounting for all monies handed over to tthe principal.A fiduciary must not exploit his other position of trust and confidence for personal gain athte expense of the principal.Law demands a fiduciary to excercises degree of care and utmost good faith in maintenance of the principals assets and rights and imposes compensatory as well as punitive damages on the erring fiduciary. No 2 .The timing of the RNS on the sale of he Slots to Veuling Airlines (owned by IAG/BA)It was 5 minutes before market close Friday 11th.January,the day that he BOD of Flybe had announced the recommended sale of the company to a consortium including Virgin,Stobart and AN other..Are we to believe that Flybe were selling an important assett the same-day that they were recommending the sale of he company. If the sale of the slots to,wait for it,IAG/BA had been made to the shareholders by way of RNS when the deal was actually done it may have caused the SP to soar.If it had been done I may have considered selling my share holding instead of waiting for the result of a purchase by Virgin.
if I was still a Detective with a British Police force and a Flybe shareholder had approached me with a complaint of the nature that I have outlined above I would look at it and honestly believe that there could be issues here that required further investigation.
Can the BOD of a.PLC place the future of that company before the interests of the owners of that company (the shareholders).
When was the sale of the slots to Vueling agreed. If it was before 4.25pm on the 11th.January,the the BOD of Flybe had questions to be answered.
There has been numerous posters on this site who seem to think at we have been shafted and should just get over it and sell for 1p.I honestly feel that if Honesty and Integrity have has a horse and cart ridden through it by the BOD and others mentioned previously in these posts. We were led to believe that the company was coming through a bad patch and that plans made were beginning to show fruit. Then the whole thing was collapsing because the credit card company was withholding payments made to them to protect their interests. How does that work.
Sorry for the long post.It has not been a great few days for thousands of us who have been shafted. My late father always emphasied to me without Honesty and Integrity we have nothing.
Hi Jambon.Have a Happy and HEALTHY New Year. Can't say the same to Guruofnothing. Why because he is nothing but a deramping shorter. He obviously can't be a PI,no swearing allowed on this site. There are thousands of PI who have a vested interest in booking, including myself who would like to have a one on one with this miscreant.I will always remember what my late father said "If you don't have anything constructive to say,say nothing".Gathering a bit of headwind here,Guruofnothing,a bag of excreta.Don't think that's swearing.

I have been looking recently for an update on the Black Friday trading period for Boohoo,Can't find it anywhere, then I see that seem to have the inside track on on this info,Please enlighten us on your source as your post indicates that there there has been a poor B Friday. Gotmiester.
Cheers Bruce.Thanks for the advice.G
As a long term Lloyds Share holder, seen some great times and some not so great times.Thought today's Q3 update might have seen a response from the markets, bearing in mind that Barclays posted a loss yesterday and saw a 5p rise.I,m sure that there are many players on here are more savvy with regard to the intacacries of the market. When companies such as Ocado who have never posted a profit can see a 100% sure rise on an agreement with others that are no more than that.Lloyds post profits for Q3 in excess of a billion pounds and the reaction, piffle.Investors invest in companies who continue to post a profit every quarter and every year and who pay a good dividend. If that doesn't, impress the market then in the words of Private Fraser " we are all doomed"
Pommy 1972.I was aware of that, the point I was making was about his conduct during the period when the short sellers and others were forming a lynch party. My own opinion was he helped me to not jump ship.
Chancers.I watched this report last night, this issue has been in the public domain for quite a while now.Are we to believe that it only the fashion industry in Indonesia that is polluting the water and atmosphere,The BBC highlighted a similar programme in mainly Bangasdesh involving the fashion industry last year.It focused on poorly built manufacturing premise and Dickensian working condition and wages.
There was no mention of the presenter Stacey ? jetting all over the world in one of the biggest polluter, the airplane. No mention of the President of the USA wanting to reopen coal mines in America and wanting to withdraw for the Paris agreement on climate change.
Whilst I am on my high horse, the CEO of Tesco was asking for a tax on online busineeses/It may have escaped his memory that a big part of his company is online shopping and delivery.Glaas houses and stones comes to mind. The usual doom and gloom posters on this site and marshalling their troops in a bid to talk down boo's chances and share price. We were all heartened (well all the real PI's) when after the last results the SP made a big come back.At the end of last week a brick wall was reached,I follow the AIM,it was bobbing along at it's usual pace,+3,-2,nochanges and then out of nowhere came -13,-12,drops not seen for a long time.I think that boohoo has been quite resilant this time and I am confident for the future. If a company puts out the numbers that they have and are doomed a sell then there is no future for PI's.
Sorry for the ramble,I wasn't going to mention Jambon and Thorpy, but Jambon in particular has been subjected to dogs abuse for no other reasons than trying to keep us PI's upbeat and confident in the future.I for one have considered bailing out several times in the last 6 months at a large loss. These guys have been a big part in my not doing so and a big up to them both.We as PI's have to stick together and ensure that the pariah BOC and Canadian Pension funds are blown out of the water.Keep smiling and HEALTHY.
Hi.This is my first post on tis group although I have been a Boo holder for about two years.Did very well and left making a nice profit.Came back in,possibly through greed just prior to the Carol sell on results day.It has been a roller coater ride since then.I was heartened by the new CEO,a subject that has been asked for may times.I am sure that he will have had deep and meaningfulls with the top two.If the subject of sells off at results time did not play an important part in his coming on board (ie that is not a way that a grown up company should act) then he is coming just for the money. If there is a hint of a director sell tomorrow then we are Donald Ducked and I'm out better the loss then than waiting it out.Live In hope, know what I mean.
Thank you for that Freya. Will never get a handle on this investing malarkey, never felt the kick.Only yesterday on half year results 200+ million shares traded, neatly 50% more buys than sales, result about 1. something precent rise.Must get out of this share, after 30 years,in and out.
Hi Freya.Sorry to sound like a drongo.I am a long term LBG shareholder (different times over the years.).Had a look tonight at the after time sales/buys and noted a 44 million sale after trading.Trying to work out what that meant ona good half year and a rise in interest rates. Is 44 million a private investor.? If you have to kick me please me it a soft one.
Maybe I have missed something here.As far as I am aware the tendering process for the new Blue Passport is still that.No decision has been made about who will produce it,still less about a new queue. The current EU passport is the only valid one,I used it two weeks ago,and 3 months ago, never a mention of a blue passport separate queue, sunds like fake news to me.
