The progress being made in the solar, wind and storage renewable energy technolagy will make nuclear and its long term legacy obsolete in the not too distant future. And it will be quite a few exrta pence per kWh of electricity.
The most expensive white elephant in British history.’ A LEGACY THAT WILL HANG ROUND OUR NEKS FOR GENERATIONS TO COME what were they thinking? George Osborne and energy Theresa May gave the go-ahead to the £18bn Hinkley Point power plant that could spiral as high as £37 bllion. secretary Amber Rudd on a trade mission. In 2013 EDF won the contract to build the first of Britain’s new nuclear power station
I would rather High Speed 2 (HS2) rail network than Hinkley Point nuclear power station. At least HS2 would provide infrastructure for our future.
Come on Boris, make amends and give SXX some backing.
Must say in all the time I've watched this board I've never seen such a load of demonic bar stewards. In one breath condemning shorters and with the next climbing on the band wagon. They must feel very proud of themselves. Hope they live to regret it.
This project will succeed. Crawl back under your bridge and do some research.
Looks better there than on the back of a lorry.

Are you saying that we would be in a far worse position then, than we would have been, if we were in the position that was as good as it was before it was as good as what it used to be.
Brad

Just been looking at your last posts. Why do you seem to want this project to fail? Are you shorting or want to buy in cheaper.
Must be a reason you are trolling like you are.

"Simply put, this project needs mothballing for a few years." Have you really thought this though.

Yes I do it's more than just saving a couple of thousand jobs? It's insurance for the whole country.

Don't know why people keep comparing this with Thomas Cook because SXX is a completely different scenario.
It seem that only the likes of Easy jet, Tui, Rynair and us are in the blue today. Glass half full.
Aren't they cheap enough for you already Jimmy, leave it too long and you will miss the boat.

Sorry 769 per day for five day week.

only as a temporary measure for some income until tunnel is built
TheReverand
Are we aware of the enormity of this project. 1Mln tons would require 25000 40ton lorry loads ? 20000 50 ton articulated bulk tippers, 2692 per day for five day week. SXX intend to produce 10 mln tons per anum That’s why we need a tunnel.
