No RNS or Tweet so far today, but this is now in the countdown zone. 11 full days of September, Q3, left to announce the drill bit in the ground.

If they were facing a crew or equipment delay beyond the end of the month it would have been put out by now.

Interestingly, Noble, who are normally very noisy, have gone ultra quiet, and their SP is flat-lining like ours, but with a very different shareholder makeup. They will come out of the blocks running hard, as their rig up will be slick due to Marriott’s in-house crew! Will they beat us to Spud?

Or have the 2 companies planned to spud concurrently to effectively spread the risk?

Looking back at the tweeted night time photo on 14th September, of the Rig and the Trailer sitting with the liquid cement grout tanks beside it, could it be possible we are doing the top holing and casing as we speak, prior to the Spud of the Main Drill in the coming days?

The first line of the Tweet reads, "It is a 24hr Operation with back to back crews covering day/night shifts."

Written in the present tense! Not "It will be".

Crews could be using this as final training/familiarisation, before the big event!

I'm not talking about the upcoming spuds and drilling in the next 4 to 6 weeks, but the ability to set up new pads and do appraisal drills in the wet season due to the good road construction (metalled stone build with drainage, rather than dirt only), allowing good access, to let us to operate in the wetter conditions, instead of waiting till next May's dry season to do appraisal, if the imminent results are good. If that is not their thinking, then why have they spent so much time on the road builds?

Presumably with the size of the Sites at both Tai3 and Itumbula, the appraisal well pads would/could be within the confines of the existing site boundaries, or at a close by location, therefore the pad construction would be fairly inexpensive in comparison to a virgin site?

Still think they will eat into the rainy season to get this all progressed if the initial results are positive!

The interesting aspect of this for me is that I think they have partially de- risked both sites with the well built roads, allowing better year round access.

Once Tai is drilled and they move to Itumbula, depending on shows, tests and lab results, if either well warrants appraisal, then the Drill will stay at Itumbula to appraise there first, and probably even at the end of this year if weather is reasonable, with ground mats allowing working access to continue through wet spells!

Not a problem if you have to halt for a while in the heaviest rains, but still miles cheaper than waiting till next May.

There will also be more intensity with regards Tanzanian Govt and the big players looking for “as fast as possible road to production”!

My interpretation was that it is a Baker Hughes Trailer in their company colours, with liquid cement grout tanks and pump at rear of trailer.

Not a LLI item in my opinion.

The fact that we are putting so much effort into the civils road building work, with proper cut and fill using stone base, with side drainage ditches and run off, we are effectively de-risking the wet season to a fair degree, and if weather is not too brutal then , we may be able to attempt appraisals of the 2 sites after drilling if initial results are positive.

Just my opinion, but the level of detail in the site constructions is very impressive and forward thinking!

Just back from Hoilday and haven’t caught up with all the back catalogue of posts, but appears to me this tweet is a message that they are doing full run through of crew procedures on the basis of Spud next week. A long, long wait for us believers, but we are now in a world unique position! GLA long term holders.

Well guys, my wife and I are off on holiday, with 6 friends, to spend 10 days on a Gulet off the Turkish and Greek Islands, and I am intending to dip out of this nonsense until then, so will be back on Tuesday 12th, refreshed and ready for the run-up to Spud!
