Great Post Skittish
I have been watching the Noble Rig progress and don't know whether the ship was organised by Noble or Marriot, the drill owners, but it has been a pretty slick journey so far. They re-fuelled off Valletta in Malta from a bunkering tanker, and were on their way again within 12 hours. Suez, tomorrow approx. 10pm at Port Said, and if things go smoothly, they will get to Dar es Salaam by the end of the month.
Was suggested by someone further back that it might take weeks to clear the paperwork hurdles, at the Port, but I agree with you, all the loads will have a great chance of being on site by 10th Sept. at latest. The setting up will be slick too, as transport is straight to site, and the Rig's own resident Crew will be in place to have it up in no time.
Was all checked in the Yard, so will be ready to go pretty smartly, and I believe they have all their required items on board. When you look at Marriot Drilling website, they seem very professional in everything they do, in comparison to Sofori, which was a bullet dodged and a lesson learned!
I asked the question at the presentation about on-going collaboration agreement, which wasn't addressed, but I am of the opinion that the links are closer than we think, and Drilling together will be beneficial to both parties, helping to de-risk both, possibly make production units more cost effective, etc.
Hopefully they will get a few more up to date photos out, just to keep things fluent!
The last week was pretty gruesome, but is history now, and we are 7 days closer to Spud!
Wishing good health, wealth, and contentment to all the genuine Helium1 believers going forward.
This is our time, Lorna - make it happen!
