"current sp only values the company at c.£5m. Surely the AIHL business alone would be worth a lot more than this!"
imo, AIHL is not worth 5m. It's a test that is only required before a specific antibiotic that causes deafness in babies is administered. There was a URL posted last week that showed that the manufacturers of the specific antibiotic know how to drastically reduce the risk and are working on it. The article was from 2019, I think. So it suggests that AIHL test will be even less profitable in the future too. But I admit I don't know the stats, I don't know how often that specific antibiotic is administered. I'd imagine its an antibiotic of last resort for babies anyway.
Then of course you've got this all against the back drop that antibiotics are becoming less and less effective. We are entering a perfect storm imho - war, climate change and no new basic antibiotics have been found since the 1980's, due to bacterial resistance .
The future looks very bleak for GDR if they don't meet finncaps expectations of 3 million in sales. The resignation of the CFO says it all imo.
