Pires Investments plc (AIM: PIRI), the investment company focused on next generation technology, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mirabaud Securities Limited ("Mirabaud") as Joint Broker to the Company with immediate effect.

One aspect of Mirabaud's role will be to assist the Company in developing its institutional investor base and to prepare a research note on the Company.

My take on this is. PIRI Raising significant and substantial finance by Debt or Equity. Raising the profile of PIRI without the help of its investee Companies, why do this if the "growth" of the investee Companies is as PIRI alludes to ? That Investee Cos may or not be able to raise their own profile independently. If the Investee companies were to prepare their own research notes, this would enhance the profile of PIRI for free.

Watch out for the Corporate repeated share diluting placings at prices below current share price, before the fundamental, alleged, investee Companies shareholder value increase ? Shares issues only serve to dilute existing shareholdings.

What should happen is fundamental internal organic growth, rather than growth by way of increased share issues.
