NuRAN Wireless and Avanti Communications Sign Partnership Agreement
September 29, 2018
QUEBEC CITY, June 19, 2018 — NuRAN Wireless Inc. (“NuRAN Wireless†or the “Companyâ€) (CSE:NUR) (OTC:NRRWF) (FSE:1RN) is pleased to announce that it has signed an MOU with Avanti Communications Group plc (“Avantiâ€), [AIM (AVN:LSE)] to market and distribute a combined 2G RAN product alongside Avanti’s Ka-band satellite backhaul solution.
Avanti Communications, a satellite operator based in London, England, provides satellite broadband services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa through its fleet of High Throughput Satellites. Avanti’s world-leading satellite technology sets a new standard for reliability, flexibility and value for , , and Satellite Operators. It has rights to orbital slots and Ka-band spectrum in perpetuity that covers an end market of over 1.7 billion people. The Group has invested $1.2 billion in a network that incorporates satellites, Gateway Earth Stations, data centres and a international fibre ring.Â
Reaching rural communities is highly strategic for both NuRAN and Avanti, with a clear focus on the African, Latin American and South East Asian markets. Reaching these communities often requires satellite backhaul as the only viable solution further highlighting the strategic advantage the two companies collaborating.
The partnership will officially kick off with a pilot for an incumbent East African Operator that has the scale to grow into a large deployment of sites across the region. The additional deployments are expected to start rolling out during the course of 2018 with an anticipated completion during the first half of 2019.
The World Economic Forum states that 3.9 billion people or 52% of the world’s population are currently unconnected. This is a dire statistic in an ever dependent connected world but at the same time is a huge opportunity for NuRAN Wireless and Avanti to connect those that need it most. With even a 2G GSM connection, these populations can finally have access to mobile coverage, basic internet, texting and most importantly be financially included with Mobile Banking generating economic growth. In addition to this, they can have education and health solutions delivered via USSD or IVR.
“NuRAN Wireless and Avanti have a shared vision of connecting the unconnected. Beginning in East Africa, we see this as the start of a very successful and long-term partnership. Avanti’s satellites provide ubiquitous coverage over countries of Sub Saharan Africa, making it the ideal solution for large-scale cellular backhaul deploymentsâ€; States Bradley Shaw Regional Manager Middle East and Africa for NuRAN Wireless.
Christian Georgeson, Chief Marketing Officer, Avanti Communications, said: “Avanti’s Ka-band satellite backhaul services, combined with NuRAN Wireless’ small cell technology provides a sustainable solution to extend mobile networks to rural

Yes I think we all understand the potential upside thomas, but what we need right now is an injection of confidence, and ANY signal that JB and Co really care for their long suffering investors.
Again, I suggest a significant pay cut but with generous bonus packages dependant on results AND some significant share purchases. Sure, these are token gestures in the grand scheme of things but they work !
It is indeed. All numbers changing to head in the right direction. H4 in business. Confidence in the bisiness returned. Ducks lines up ! JJ nobody can stop us now! Nobody !!
Surely there is a case for reducing remuneration packages here? I would advocate no more than £20K max with further benfits dependent on financial performance. Anyone agree ?
Excellent Growth numbers ! Keep it up PXS and I'll top up.
Tyche et al, for goodness sake, just put it on IGNORE. You're simply feeding it ammunition for it to paint an ultimately negative outcome.
Ha Ha ! Don't waste your time tyche. HIS, etc. are OBVIOUSLY paid to distort the truth and cloud any positive facts about AVN. Just put it on IGNORE or whatever that function is here. It'll save you hours of frustration.
Agreed results pretty much as expected, but I do agree with an earlier poster. A pay cut is definately justified, after all we're all in this together eh? JB's salary should be around 50K with the rest dependent on results.
A buy at this price as our excellent products will either come good under current management if they wake up (!) or be bought out.
Yes pretty disappointing progress from our company but astill a longer term HOLD for me and this price a BUY. I suspect LO are of the same view. I mean, how on earth could this not be a success? Our products are game changers.
It is indeed ! More to come too I'm sure ! Note too that this arrangement does not depend on Retail customer take up, so this is straight cash in the bank.
Cassius if I may add....Great to see some positive news !
Would you quote the source please. (Don't have time to search the AVN site right now).
Interesting indeed. It seems FruitFlow is finding greater popularity amongst those manufacturers of suppliments who recognise the benefits.
Must try some of that !
Thanks for posting Gixer.
This is fantastic news! Thanks for posting Cassius ! I suspect similar arrangements are on the way for H4..
Thanks for posting these. Interesting indeed ! I believe the explosion in Fruitflow awareness is almost upon us as a number of International standard Bike Riders and Tournament Squash players are becoming more aware of the benefits.
Still at it eh........ AL-17 plus etc !!!
Thanks for posting Cassius. Terrific News!
AVANTI ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF SOUTH AFRICAN BASED OPERATIONS
Avanti Communications Group, a leading satellite operator, providing Ka-band satellite data communications services across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, have announced the official launch of its South Africa-based operations as of 29 August 2018.
The announcement is underpinned by Avanti’s continued commitment to investing in Africa through a direct local presence backed by in-country solutions to enable and facilitate connectivity through key partnerships both in South Africa and throughout the region. To date, Avanti has invested over USD$897 million in Sub-Saharan Africa, with USD$143 million in South Africa alone.
Building on the success of its previous high throughput satellites (HTS), Avanti launched its third satellite, HYLAS 4 in April 2018. HYLAS 4 will operate with 64 fixed and 4 steerable beams from five Gateway Earth Stations to significantly extend Avanti’s coverage to West and Central Africa for the first time.
This development will provide affordable high-speed satellite broadband to connect homes, SMEs, schools, enterprises and mobile operators across Sub-Saharan Africa, especially in rural and remote locations where terrestrial networks are limited.
“Through our reliable high-speed connectivity, we bring the digital era to people, we believe everyone has the right to become a digital citizen, especially those in the remotest areas across Africa,” says Christian Georgeson, Chief Marketing Officer of Avanti Communications.
As leaders in Ka-band communications, Avanti has worked in some of Europe, Middle East and Africa’s most challenging locations, pushing boundaries to deliver innovative and flexible communications across various sectors.
“Through our technology, we empower our partners, ensuring they deliver always-on connectivity to their customers, wherever they may be. Not only have we invested in our satellites, but we’ve invested heavily in our ground network and our people. We have highly redundant Gateways Earth Stations, ensuring 99.8% availability and have built dedicated Gateways in South Africa, which enables data to land in-country. In addition to our satellites and ground infrastructure, Avanti is committed to local employment opportunities in space, ICT, engineering and communications sectors.” adds Georgeson.
The addition of HYLAS 4 will see Avanti complete its coverage across Africa, in addition to having the capability to cover markets across Latin America. These markets can be reached through the satellite’s four steerable beams which can be placed anywhere across the Earth’s disk visible from the orbital slot of the satellite.
Avanti’s South African in-country presence comes as the company also unveils its new corporate identity which encapsulates its vision to connect homes, grow businesses, extend networks, change lives, going the extra mile to liberate untappe
As information becomes more freely available in China my friend in China reckons the Chinese people's obsession with good health has led to more awareness of air polluting effects. Couple that to the PROVEN benefits of FruitFlow I think it's enturely plausible that By-Health can cash in on the pattern of events to all our benefits !
....And Airbus Defence and Space used to be called EADS (European Aeronautical Defence and Space. Who built Hylas? Yup, you got it.....EADS ! Good to see we have maintained effective relationships. Signs of a turbaround in our approach I'd say. Well done AVN !
