Well Smithy is definitely hiding " his embarrassment". I recall his words were something along these lines...... " Gazshot, you are deluded if you think EZJ will be flying anywhere this summer".
They are, and I'll be on one of their aircraft with the spending money taken care of.
Good luck all and be good !
And there goes £9, just as Ventura and I predicted about a week ago.
Smithy and his doomsday predictions are nowhere in sight, nor should they be as he hasn't got a clue about investing based on what he said on this board !
Duster, my holiday on July 29th with EZJ has been booked since January. I just paid the remainder of the cost the other day and the flight is still available to book, I'm not phased one bit. I'm going on holiday barring any silly FCO guidance.
Well, me and Vectura got it right, it wasn't difficult though, common sense really. Of course EZJ Sp has been slipping on the back of all the Covid related news, it was bound to happen, but so was the reversal. The world aint gonna stop flying, it will only fly differently. Forget the data breach, EZY will be insured for that.
My hols to Spain have been booked since Jan for this summer and I have no reason to believe that I wont be going, (other than a second wave their side and they lock down again ) but they are desperate, can't see it happening.
Am I still delusional Smithy.... Over to you ??
I am reading that only a very small number of customers had credit card details stolen. I had an e-mail advising that my details were breached but only name, address and details of my trip, no other details, i.e credit cards have been touched.
If you look at the ombudsman for these types of breach, it appears you can get only get compensation if you have experienced financial loss.
Pasting part of my mail from them....... "Apart from the very small subset of customers who we have already notified, no credit card details have been impacted. We therefore do not expect there to be any financial loss caused by this incident. We are advising customers to continue to be alert as they would normally be, especially should they receive any unsolicited communications."
You have a point Duster. I'm taking a wider view of airlines in general though. I'ts not only about easyjet, but BA and the whole of the industry and how many jobs depend on it.
It works both ways, 38 million tourists visited the UK last year spending £24.9 billion. Not a drop in the ocean by any means.
Depending on which web site you look at, the UK was the 8th or 10th most visited country in the world last year.
That is without business travel and goods in/out. The worlds economies depend on travel in this age, airline travel wont go away, its just a matter of how its managed now, but manage it they will.
Good luck again.
Exactly Giantsquid.
Another question for Smithy.... given an ultimatum, (which aint that far away), which way do you think the government / governments will go when the money runs out. Save lives or take a chance with a bored and psychologically disturbed society who will be grateful or even chomping at the bit to experience some kind of normality and get the country / countries opened up ? Why do you think tourism is starting up in holiday hotspots, they are skint mate.
I expect your reply will show who the delusional one is.
Well like I said Duster, its all about personal choice. If Spain, Italy et al are open, by virtue of that fact alone it says we are safe, therefore what reason would the FCO have to advise against travel ?
The French are threatening a 2 week quarantine as soon as we do and my guess is as soon as Spain etc drop there's, there is no case whatsoever for the UK to enforce one.
Most of Europe will be free to travel within 2 months, sure there will be some restrictions but as I said before, we have them here. In any case,( as eluded to earlier ) how do they police a quarantine in your own home.
Hopefully we will see EZJ share price steer North on this weekends news and keep on that trajectory as we see more flights announced.
Good luck.
