Rainbow Rare Earths Phalaborwa project shaping up to be one of the lowest cost producers globally. Watch the video here.
This will be known by many already but my thoughts at looking at Linkedin are: a) We have a Head of Government Sales - UK & Ireland (no need for such a role unless the gov continues to be a big customer) b) the personnel are very young and dynamic looking (I was expecting to see a lot of lab coats!) c) only one of the job titles has interim in which suggests everyone else is permanent (not just here for the covid push)
I have a friend who works for the wrong (red) team in Manchester. When I last spoke to him they were looking at test providers but LFTs were in pole position because of cost. If we can compete on cost then agreed demand would be insane.
Have the updated broker notes allowed for any award to Microgen under the NMF? As far as I can see SP Angel's original coverage did not mention it, I assume because details of NMF had not been announced by October. As SP's target price is the same I assume they have still not made any allowance for it. An award of £150m plus (yes, I know it could be a lot lower but also a lot higher) would therefore be huge.
I like how BG said the key to stopping the next virus is ramping up diagnostics not stopping once Covid 19 is no longer a threat. I've always felt a bit uneasy that our success was coming about as a result of an ongoing and worsening virus but now if BG and I'm sure many others get their way Nova's product range will remain highly in demand post current pandemic, especially as it keeps demonstrating it's capabilities to lead the way in technology

My favourite line: By the next pandemic, I’m hopeful we’ll have what I call mega-diagnostic platforms, which could test as much as 20 percent of the global population every week.
Can our PCR competitors that supply UK gov detect new variant? I've just checked thermofishers commentary and they are hardly overwhelming confident of their tests.

Interesting. Mine is not scheduled until H2 2022. This is based on 1m a week which seems v optimistic as there are only £500k doses to begin with. Peak testing will be here for a while and it makes sense that the microbiology framework lasts until 2023.
Ah ok thanks. My reading of that is that is the deadline for them to guarantee the stock being available not the deadline to trigger phase 2. In the same clause it says we can upscale manufacturing to meet demand and let's be honest if the gov wanted an order we would find a way so the 8 weeks is a bit of a red herring. I think the 28 Dec is a key date being the deadline for contract extension clause 15.2 sch 2 so I'm hoping (expecting!?) for an RNS next Tuesday to say the contract has been extended and phase 2 triggered.

So it looks as though both rapid tests and PCR are here to stay (despite recent heavy criticism). If only we could also smash the rapid test market..
