LTI didn’t say 14% return from dividends. He said 14% shareholder returns. I.e. including the buyback. Do try and read properly.

Share prices move downwards for all sorts of reasons. Nothing to do with buybacks 🙄

Bang in line with what I was expecting. No dividend reduction as Chid and livestock suggested there might be. Solid results and another great chance to remove shares from the register at low prices enhancing shareholder value. More than happy.

No, the capital leaves the business to pay for the shares bought from market makers.

You’d best sell your shares livestock then if you feel the car financing bill has been drastically underestimated before the results 2mrw. You think the Board are tempted to trim the dividend as well so why are you still invested here ?

Assuming the final dividend declared tomorrow is 1.84p, then the field at the current price is well over 6%. That’s not a poor dividend by any means.

HSBC is internationally focussed, Lloyds is UK focussed. HSBC impairment charge relates to China property exposure. Not something Lloyds is exposed to. Different markets.

Yup, Lloyds work in a totally different market to HSBC. Drawing comparisons is futile.
