A number articles are also out there now about Labour’s pay rises to the unions creating inflationary pressures. I guess we can look forward to interest rates staying higher for longer. Same old Labour, same old incompetence 🙄

Can you imagine how your beloved Labour would have handled Covid ? The national debt would have been infinitely higher. I join the chorus on here who see what Labour is doing. Big spending plans asides looking after their public sector union paymasters. Labour have lied to the electorate, pure and simple to get votes. The veneer has now slipped and tax and spend has returned very quickly. Reeves has lied that she didn’t know the extent of the public finances. If she didn’t look at the figures that were freely available to her before the election, then she’s more incompetent than she’s already showing she is.

Nothing condones attacking police and wanton vandalism but some of these sentences seem a bit Draconian to me in the grand scheme of things. What a waste of taxpayers money. Make them clear up the mess and be publicly shamed instead of letting offenders from far more serious crimes gain more remission in order to make way for them.

NatWests share price is about 6 times that of Lloyds so similar market capitalisations. Doesn’t really matter how many shares are in in issue. Lloyds could do a stock split to reduce the number of shares in issue but it wouldn’t affect the market capitalisation.

You’re quite right BLB and I apologise.

That said, you post so much 💩 that it’s difficult to sift through it all. Why haven’t you sold your Lloyds holding yet and moved onto a stock that doesn’t do buybacks ? We’re all waiting for you to move on. It’s becoming rather tedious reading your inexorable drivel on here.

Didn’t take long. Train drivers 14% and still going to strike for months. Borderforce then next to take strike action. We can all look forward to the public sector unions holding this Labour government to ransom because they know that Labour will give into them. Increased borrowing and taxing the middle classes and pensioners to pay for it.

Brix, you ought to tell that to the CEOs of numerous companies here and in the USA and elsewhere around the world. Why don’t you invest in companies that don’t do buybacks then instead of moaning on here ? Quite happy with the returns I’ve made on BAE systems, Rills Royce, Chemring, Nvidia, Netflix, Uber, AMD etc, etc who all use them.

Fleccy, agree with many of your posts normally but don’t agree that a consolidation will make any difference whatsoever. Whether the share is 55p with a small buy/sell spread or 220p with a larger one, it’ll make no difference to the market capitalisation. The MMs will determine the share price but buybacks will mathematically increase it. The CEOs and boards of Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple, Meta, Alphabet, Uber etc must have it all wrong and you, BLB, livestock, Brixton must be right instead 🙄
