I think that Bilbo and I have been in ITM for about the same length of time and it has been a lengthy, frustrating journey. When I bought in I had no idea of the need for setting up this almost new industry with standards for regulations, standardisation, planning etc. etc. etc.... ITM was recognised as a world leader and joined with other governments besides the UK to offer guidance on these committees.
I am in no doubt that the BoD are great experts in their field. Their guidance is currently being sought by
Northern Gas (rns 24/4) and the Canadian Government regarding Gas injection into the mains, having already carried out an earlier investigation with National Grid, While I believe that Hydrogen cars will be a proportion of the zero emission cars in the future and that there will be an income from the ITM network of refuelling stations, the real money will come from Gas injection if these explorations lead to further projects. The 40 million pipeline of sales still exists and income will considerably increase when the new factory comes on-stream.
Having given this more optimistic outline I would agree with you, Bilbo, that the reputation of ITM has been very helpful in the past to get to where we are but now there is a real need for a more creative approach to marketing and the appointment of a new senior member of the Board with experience in a larger organisation. Then we might fly!
Especially on AIM it is news that that gets attention and investment - as far as I can see there is no-one whose job it is to liaise with investors or prospective investors. We need more frequent and informative announcements followed by press releases in a more eye catching form. Not quite Elon Musk!
