The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
CStallion, thanks for the link, i noticed in the article it was Prof. M. Tamim said "It is better to establish coal fired power plant at the mine mouth". GCM has worked hard to prove they are a low cost provider of electricity and can provide more coal than under ground mining, they also have proposed a power station at the mine mouth which fits this conclusion.
However State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Mr. Nasrul Hamid MP said "We are now planning for future how to generate low cost uninterrupted power using mix fuels" ... due to costs and lack of coal in the article.
At no point did either mention open pit
So i ask you. Did they not mention open pit due to... (a) not wishing to contradict the PM? (b) Prevent giving unwanted attention to the likes of GCM? (c) go against the governments current policy of gas imports? (d) not asked by interviewer?
I am not personally aware of another open pit mine proposal in the country but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
What are your thoughts please?

RichieRich, Deramping is about as real as "deep state" neither exist.
I've decided to keep my thoughts to myself regarding my personal stance in this project as some people get very upset. Instead here is some actual factual news, i would be interested to see FACTUAL objections to this report.
In August 2020, signalling a potential pivot in Bangladesh away from coal power towards increased reliance on gas-based power from imported liquified natural gas (LNG), Bangladesh’s minister of power, energy and mineral resources, Nasrul Hamid stated that the government is planning to review an array of planned coal plants with the exception of three which are in construction and nearing completion: the Rampal power station, the Matarbari power station and the Payra power station. According to Minister Hamid, "We are reviewing how we can move from coal-based power plants." Phulbari Coal Project (China Gezhouba) is, therefore, likely to be reviewed by the government which may cause delays to the project or even cancellation
You clearly don't understand finance records or how much it costs to list a company on AIM exchange and you sound over leveraged as reality of your choices is starting to hit home. Never play the stock market with borrowed money or money you can not afford to loose, specifically on AIM and my personal investment choices are none of your business.
Why would i want to sell up when i can live rent free inside your head?
HIAB - 'Shares are worth less, they have zero value, there is no way to sell them even if they did' WRONG
So how do you sell POLO shares then or any company that has been delisted?..... evidence please.
How is it wrong exactly to say that NAV is irrelevant? If you had a house you bought for 500k and the market collapsed but its still listed as worth 500k but the only buyer is offering 350k and you have to sell, how is it still worth 500k?
Your ignorance is starting to show, I'm guessing your under 25 years old. Don't bother replying, your acting like a Trump supporter where evidence and truth hold no value in your deluded conspiracy theory world.
No they don't and no they won't.
Shares are worth less, they have zero value, there is no way to sell them even if they did. NAV is irrelevant, something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay,
-----------------------------
Polo shareholders still own their shares and its NAV was far greater than its last traded price. They will still be entitled to a
share of any GCM success.
For what its worth I hope that GCM gets the agreement it wants and is a success.
My personal thoughts are that the company is in trouble. If i were able to get out with break even i would and never return.
To all those still invested in GCM I wish you all the luck in the world.
I've bought in today at 179p with a look to getting out around 200p by end of Jan 2021. USA elections always tick up the markets by 5% but the world markets and Covid might force me to wait a bit longer than planned. Good company, good finance track record.
The vaccine is a misnomer to be honest. A friend of mine works in this field and they doubt it will be ready before Q3 2021 at the earliest due to regulation around such things. Even then, you have to mass produce it and its a big IF it works completely as virus's mutate. The biggest stumbling block will getting people to take it.
If you concerned about your investment, ask yourself, is this company financially viable or will it go bust? If the former stay put, if the latter get out.
I am of the former

there is a news article about such behaviour, perhaps you should read it. I did notice it was her house that sold, not yours.

9 years ago I persuaded my partner to sell her house and based on the prospect of the £10 party within 4 or 5 months max, 'we' invested her equity here and Polo and based on our total holding in both
This contract / no contract non-issue has been around for some time and i contacted GCM directly last year to obtain confirmation. They DO have a contract with the bang gov for coal extraction and mine provision for 30 years.
---------------------
ohh hang on the blog said there was no contract
You forgot the three questions, (1) who is being paid in brown envelopes to keep the status quo (2) if solar panels can work in Helmand province in Afghanistan why not Bang? (3) Why approve Phulbari and risk public backlash when there are several other coal plant and mines approved which are not yet on line?

Magmanus49 said ''Anybody who thinks bangledesh does not want half price local coal, and wants to pay higher export price for the same thing - when coali is main source of energy for time beingis - is dilluded beyond bounds. lol.
I could not possible disagree more with Tiggy statement below. GCM is a London listed company with a license, what they say in RNS has nothing repeat NOTHING to do with bang Gov. GCM have been repeatedly pushed back so they went to the Chinese to get things in order so they can say they are ready the minute the project is approved and prove its a financially viable project, in order to reduce reasons for it to be denied once more. China's companies would have been paid fees and their contracts are "on condition that the project is approved" nothing more. To say they hold weight is a common misconception. Chinese companies have been involved in many AIM companies to the same level as GCM some worked others did not but make no mistake they will want their pound of flesh on unfavourable terms, look at the MG/Rover deal for an insight as to how they work. The PM is not about to U-turn with 3 years left of her rule, her successor however might just do that but will GCM be around in 3 years time? Was polo delisted to asset strip it to fund GCM for 3 more years? no one knows but Tang.
----------------------
tiggy2101 - I don't think GCM would be allowed to issue RNS's by the Bangladesh government if this didn't have any legs. I don't think the Chinese would be too happy either having wasted there time on the project.
Magmanus - i haven't shorted this share at all, and good luck trying to short an aim share at all.
been here more than 13 years and have £12,000 still in the game. I sold a couple of grands worth yesterday and I genuinely hope this gets approval but i have been in other AIM shares that have all done very similar deals with China only for them to fold with 18 months and take everyone's money. The alarm bells for me was POLO being delisted.
You pays your money and takes your choice, just don't want to see others blinded by the happy 'BS' clappers who clearly are underwater.
Latino. this will not "re-rate over the next few days" as you put it, the market isn't stupid and has been let down too many times by GCM in the past. the only thing which will raise the price is mine approval or a large cash injection without new shares being produced, neither is likely
Kensigton - i predicted 12p by the end of the day, i was 24 hours out as it hit 12.2p today. Now didn't you call me mad or stupid? Who's smiling now?
