They all took a haircut on their remuneration last year (or many did I am sure).
Seems to be forgotten already, so as I say Bonkers I think if/once share price is at happier levels we won't be talking about this.
I think it's more a reflection of is being disappointed with the performance of OUR investment decisions than the job Mooky and board have or have not done.

I understand what you are saying.
Most live to our relative levels so just as you are I would not wish year after year of reduced remuneration especially when we have done our job to best of ability then neither should Cineworld or other businesses leaders.

*I feel there is a widespread level of people get paid WAY over their true worth, but I guess the market believes otherwise or they wouldn't be paid at such levels

So far the company has survived the worst disruption to business ever and with minimal dilution to its shareholders.
Mooky to my best knowledge was not responsible for COVID.
Time will tell if he can get the company through this next very difficult stage in its history.
Few of us can relate to salary and bonus numbers such as these, but like it or not it's what happens at those levels. He is not unique in that.

Couple years from now if we have lost the lot with our shares we will likely be bitter.
If we have all made a nice wedge then we probably couldn't care less about this or any and all other bonuses he gains.

However as noted below the Cineplex noose round our neck will (in the absence of any Knockout great news) keep us suppressed.

We also consider the disclosures within the financial statements to give an accurate view of the current state of the proceedings and what the implications could be should the appeal be unsuccessful.

Indeed Hexam, it starts building this month then gets stronger again next couple months.
Anyone interested look back previous years and months we had regular 'big" films every month often a few per month AND we had support from depth.
There is currently too much pressure on each and every ",big" movie that is released due to our lack of content.

What if Cineplex given "options" before them decide removal of the world's second biggest competitor is worth that?
What if they get a reduced settlement, but one that's still big enough to give Cineworld financial difficulties for some time.
What if that leads to either a costly addition to debts or a significant reduction in equity for small shareholders?

Alde, Maybe you will find it surprising but for once we agree.
ANY investor should remain open minded to possibility they either got it wrong or material things have since happened and their choice to go either long or short is no longer well backed up.

If wrong nobody makes money from chasing down/up their original position.

I remain long having seen nothing to materially alter my initial research.

The Cineplex case is obviously an unknown for both longs and shorts and it's outcome will strongly change the landscape.

However neither longs or shorts have anything of substance to change their own stance on this outcome as yet.

Let's be clear here there is so far NOTHING that backs up a dramatic fall in UK attendance levels.
With a very weak movie slate in first quarter we still witnessed 80% + of 2019 levels.
Since re-opening we have seen fairly strong UK demand (yes even 80% is less than before and ongoing not enough, but let's see when we have a clear run of product).

The demographic that make vast majority of attendance I predict will NOT stop due to the cost of living rises, or streaming or any other reason that has been ill thought through as an argument.

Another point for the less positive to consider is how FEW are actually needed relatively.
170 - 180million visits from a c.60m population.
