Viruses are tricky, measles, mumps and meningitis can cause hearing loss too. The havoc they wreak from person to person varies such a great deal. Sorry to hear about your girlfriend CMWW2014, I hope she finds regains some or all of her hearing. A friend of mine who caught it very early on in March 2020 recovered, but similarly, was left with tinnitus permanently. Very much agree with you that there is this blase perception about it, there should be more messaging to the public on long-term disability risks / long-covid.

Highlights:

- Omicron infections no less severe based on early UK data. Infections caused by the Omicron variant of the coronavirus do not appear to be less severe than infections from Delta, according to early data from the UK.

- For vaccines available in the UK, effectiveness against symptomatic Omicron infection ranged from 0% to 20% after two doses, and from 55% to 80% following a booster dose.

- Sperm quality is impaired for months for some people after recovery from COVID-19, researchers have found.

Not true. Although doesn't appear to replicate as fast in the lower lungs as with Delta, virus replication isn't the only driver of disease severity; host immune response also plays a key role, i.e. the immune system dysregulation that leads to cytokine storm.

It's one of the more intelligent ideas they have had to save hospitals and ambulance service becoming overwhelmed. It won't make any difference to SNG001 (it's not a trial), and it will l hopefully get rid of treatment bottlenecks and save lives.
