Hi all I don’t often post here but I hold a decent amount of this stock. The answer really is I struggle to see what he could possibly say that would have a material impact on the sp.
Currently the macro economic climate has a huge negative impact on all of these kinds of stocks so short of him saying they have a buyer at a substantial premium the sp will not shift significantly. They just need to run the business successfully until the macro view changes GLA and merry Xmas.
I think this chat board had become polarised between the holders with lots of optimism and the pessimistic and in some cases wind up merchants. I had quite a chunk in this and as many have said even with the large debt pile I couldn’t see them going bankrupt as they owed too much to too many with so few real assets and a recovering movie industry.
So when it opened the other day at 14p on the news of RNS I thought I will hold because it has historically always bounced back in the day to better levels this time it didn’t it finished at 7p so the following day as it went up to 10p plus I put a stop on and kept adjusting the stop upwards i was then stopped out at around 10p so I am definitely hurting! Now with latest news I hope for those still holding it does bounce back hard so good luck and nobody should be gloating over this as we can all get investment calls wrong unless you play it really safe and except limited upside. Cine had massive upside but clearly a massive downside.
Yes but being held back by the penny day traders taking a quick profit from yesterday.
Hi bullbears it’s been a hell of a day so my brain is a bit foggy so can’t shed much more light but I do seem to remember when the Covid first crashed cines shares and I think they went down to about 23p everyone was talking bankruptcyand they secured the funding so I remain hopeful.
Okay so they could get some debt written off but much more likely they have still pay most but over a much much longer term not particularly appealing whilst at the same time shafting the current large shareholders.
I still don’t see the upside.
I had expected a dilution at some point but further down the line when the sp was in a better place.
A dilution in itself might not be a bad thing provided it’s not too drastic and resolves the debt issues what I am not clear on is how it’s in Mookys interests or perhaps more importantly the major shareholders to let this go into bankruptcy when we know from late 22 onwards they movie slate is very impressive. Talk of the creditors as a collective benefiting I don’t see it surely it’s a bit like killing the golden goose. That said any sensible comments on my post would be welcome.
You see them on other boards when a company produces poor results they just seem to come out of the woodwork. I have this vision of some overweight snack eating back bedroom blokes getting a jolly out of spreading the doom and getting a reaction.
I can’t see selling the claim working when the outcome is being so hotly disputed. Why would anyone want to take it on when the damages may well be significantly reduced.
Although I suppose one of Cines current lenders could take it on at a significant discount.
Irrelevant what the next couple of months do we all know it will be subdued due to lack of films - It’s to total that will count with a potentially massive q4 and beyond.
If you step back from the hullabaloo this morning - amc results were not too bad plus comparing amc current valuations to Cine is chalk and cheese amc is over priced at nearly 3 x sales Cine is less than 3 months sales!
Secondly and undeniably movies are back so just give it time and ignore most of the cr@p that is posted on this board.
But of course Dyor.
Yes sell them asap but (Dyor) ;))
According to Yahoo so lots of activity compared to recent average.
The whole market is down the toilet today I don’t think it’s Cine specific.
I really don’t think it matters month to month the forthcoming results are as at 30th June and the finals will be the total of all Autumn Winter and we know overall the line up is strong. Looking forward 2023 promising to be huge. Dyor
hi betahighalpha - Interesting point you make why do you think that’s the case?
@Funinvestor - You are indeed correct the 275m is in the trust. Still all the more reason I guess for him to fight like a cat in a bag to make this business successful.
I don’t think anything sinister it’s more likely that he doesn’t want to be seen to be piling in when he is up against the court case and wants to keep his head down. Dyor
Equally he still has over 275 million shares so should this start to re rate towards more normal valuations he won’t be struggling;)
I have too much invested in Cine as judged by any of the investment articles or Guru advice.
That said my portfolio has taken a hammering this year and for me the rewards on Cine outweigh the risk.
I don’t see it as a gamble as I have read every Bear and Bull case that I can lay my hands on including reading the somewhat tedious posts by team negative on here. Ultimately if I am right I am right big if I am proven wrong I will just have live with it. Gla
Thanks Mountainous I think your correct and you need a degree in txt speak to decipher half of it.
On a Cine note it will be interesting to see these forthcoming AMC numbers so fingers crossed and Gla!
Hi all - Anyone have a view on why the advfn board is so nasty/negative?
I haven’t been in it for a while but had a look today and not just Cine a number of boards were incredibly negative doesn’t appear to have any sense of informative balance.
