Location: Littleport, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £21,500-£25,760 DOE.
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Omega Diagnostics Ltd are a manufacturer and service provider of Food Sensitivity testing, Health & Wellbeing and in-vitro diagnostics products. Based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, we export to over 80 countries worldwide as well as servicing the UK.
We currently have an opening for a Product Support Scientist to join our team.
Job Purpose:
The Product Support Scientist will provide technical support for the Omega Food product portfolio
Responsibilities:
Main areas:
• Provide technical advice to customers including remote troubleshooting where required
• Undertake customer training, build and installation of new systems and software
• Perform stability studies on retention kits
• Assist in post-market surveillance activities for product portfolio to meet regulatory requirements
• Create, update and maintain technical documents
• Maintain accurate and traceable records
• Prepare reports and make conclusions and recommendations based on the data
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to support the customer
• Utilise and develop service procedures, policies, and standards to drive Customer Satisfaction
• Drive product improvement
• Monitor competitor product portfolio’s, technologies, and undertake comparison studies of competitor products in market
• Perform experimental work in the laboratory to support products
General:
• Carry out all duties and responsibilities to the company standard within the timescales required
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Maintain compliance with QMS policies and procedures
• Maintain compliance with GDPR and Cyber Security policies and procedures
• Perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required
Knowledge. Skills & Experience:
Essential:
• A level in Science/Maths
• HND in Science or IT
• Some experience in working within laboratory environment or in software support
• Basic understanding of laboratory In-Vitro diagnostic technologies such as ELISA
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office products
• Fluent in English and effective communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
• Degree level qualification in Life Sciences with relevance to health diagnostics
• Experience of working within ISO13485
• Knowledge and understanding of laboratory practices
• Understanding of product quality systems and processes
