Cobre and placing26 Jun 2019 09:52
Lurker and holder for a long time. We can debate the approach on raising cash till the cows come home. It's done and we have the cash to purchase another asset. I took the op yesterday to top up early doors. Fortunately able to get a edge in at the bottom. The fact that we are basically flat 1day after a placing announcement speaks volumes. There is obviously positive sentiment around. I don't think I can even remember an aim company going flat on news of a discounted placing! I've been around for a few years and it is quite clear the damage from Cobre lingers on. The ship wasn't as tight back then and news got out about the cobre client. A month or so later after sp drift we got the news, it was too late. The cobre issue is a hangover we have to get rid off. If it means legal action then so be it, we were successful before and I'm sure we will be successful again. A line needs to be drawn with Cobre so we can move on from a failure of our client that started 1.5 years ago. I'd be happier to see legal proceedings have begun rather than empty promises from a client that has already messed us about more than once. If we want to fund the 1m Aussie in 6m, we will either need another raise or Cobre settlement. With all that being said in 6m if LC comes online as expected, this is a minor blip. Value wise even without major client our assets are undervalued due to uncertainty of company funding.
