Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Everyone is so convinced that we aren't involved in any trial etc...
Personally i'm optimistic... All the stars are aligning and there has been too many coincidences... Let's see...
The price of our test will be close to £5 - i'm pretty sure of it. Even £1-2 profit a test would be transformative for us...
It's what the Abbott and Roche tests cost... We probably won't find out how much the government pay.
Interesting looking at the dates for this study. Could tie in nicely with our timelines...

I don't feel today was just a TA breakout... Look at the trade at 204p of 150k shares (£306k)...
You can see some of the late trades here - https://twitter.com/buy_buy_bye/status/1318228653571014658?s=20
I wouldn't be surprised to see news this week.
You are mistaken with the Abbott test. It doesn’t need a machine to read it. There are 2 tests that don’t. Abbott Pan Bio and Abbott Binax now.
I personally see Sona struggling to compete with Abbott and SD bio. More expensive test (most likely) that does much the same thing. From a lesser known name.
Also what happens when you factor in the near 30% incorrectly taken nasal swabs ...
Pigster. The ID now test uses a machine and so is expected to be better.
The Panbio test is different to the binax now credit card looking test the US have ordered.
The Panbio test is the one the U.K. have ordered £44m worth of and also Canada (I guess because it was a high pressure sell - secure some now or there will be none left)...
The figures show consistently that Abbott tests do not live up to their claims.
This document shows that SD bio is already in trial with raptor.
One would assume that yesterday’s developments relate to new tests (avacta?)
https://www.condor-platform.org/files/raptor/raptor-protocol-version-1-1.pdf
Sd bio are working with Roche to distribute and manufacture.
Sd bio can also be Mouth /oral swab.
That’s maybe why gov doc refers to them as a saliva test.
I think there is a strong chance government is looking closely at these.
I think the scale up is to help Avacta however. I can’t see the government spending £ on scaling up a foreign test when we have best in class (possibly) in development and nearly completed in the U.K.
This scale up and infrastructure will likely be used for further pandemics and they will want control but a U.K. company.
Reference to sd bio being oral swab - https://www.biopharma-reporter.com/Article/2020/10/13/Roche-to-launch-high-volume-SARS-CoV-2-antigen-test
It does read as though his source is LSE ... haha
He said the test is extremely specific. 99.9%...
None of the current tests are that specific including Abbott and Sd bio...
We know affimers are very specific.
As it happens, I’m told bioscience firms that are members of BIVDA (the British In-Vitro Diagnostic Association) have indeed been asked by NHS Test and Trace to “repurpose” their manufacturing capabilities, amending processes for things like pregnancy tests to use their factories to produce the new Covid tests.
Two firms alone, BBI and Abingdon, will have a manufacturing capacity of upto seven million test a day, once issues like tech transfer are resolved and test sensitivity standards are passed.

There will definitely be a mix of companies. The UK ordered this test earlier this week - http://bidstats.uk/tenders/2020/W42/736886815
Very small order (probably 10m tests max) and so this isn't a long term solution? Maybe a trial...
Still think Avacta will get the lions share for the UK
I'm very excited by todays development. I do think the instant rollout he is talking about relates to this weeks order for £44m worth of the Abbott Panbio tests...
But I think that we must be very close and the manufacturing scale up is to support our LFT ...
Alistair says - “DIRECTLY ADDRESS THE NATIONAL REQUIREMENTS” Could it be any clearer?

Just want to add this in context to todays comment from #AVCT https://twitter.com/buy_buy_bye/status/1311273832683053057?s=20
Pigster. Take 2 mins and listen for yourself... No offence but - you can't be bothered to listen to major developments but spend hours on here... (Said with a smile and not malice)
The current tests in trials are clearly not ours... I think the mouth swab test that works in 15 minutes may be the SD bio test... UK has already ordered £44m worth of Abbott Panbio nasal swab antigen test too...
The most interesting part is that the test isn't quite there yet (all the others are) and that they are going to fund UK manufacturing scale up.... Likely through the RTC (which we have 2 of the 4 signed and one more in talks -odx)

Yes fully agree. probably courtesy of the RTC imo
