Visual Copper Mineralization in All Holes Completed to Date
Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - September 8, 2020) - Pan Global Resources Inc. (TSXV: PGZ) (OTC: PGNRF) (the "Company") is pleased to report good progress on the phase 3 step-out drilling program in progress at the La Romana copper target in the Escacena Project, southern Spain. The first five drill holes of this program have been completed with copper mineralization intersected in each hole.

Tim Moody, President and CEO of Pan Global commented, "We are very encouraged to report visual copper mineralization in all the new drill holes at La Romana. This includes multi-layer copper mineralization over intervals from several meters to more than 30m thickness. Logging and sampling of the drill core is progressing quickly and assay results awaited".

The company has completed five new drill holes (LRD09, LRD10, LRD11, LRD12 and LRD13) for a total 739.5m. The drill holes are part of a 3,500m, twenty-five-hole program designed to delineate and expand the copper-tin-silver mineralization intersected in the previous eight drill holes at the La Romana target.

The drill holes will also further test two large down-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) conductor plate anomalies and multi-layer copper potential. Previous drill highlights include LRD02, which intersected 20.55m at 1.5% Cu equivalent from 37m, including 7m at 3.43% Cu equivalent, and LRD-05 with 21m at 1.55% Cu equivalent from 12m, including 11m at 2.60% Cu equivalent.

Each drill hole has intersected copper mineralization broadly where predicted, including semi-massive and stringer style sulphides. The mineralization includes mostly chalcopyrite and local secondary copper minerals such as chalcocite, native copper and red copper oxides. Sections also contain elevated values of tin, lead and zinc based on portable XRF analysis and core logging.

Things are ugly this morning fellow Fools. The S&P/ASX 200 Index (Index:^AXJO) is tipped to crash although there’s a glimmer of good news for ASX copper miners.

The futures market is pricing in a 2% crash in top 200 stock benchmark this morning after US stocks suffered their worst beating in three months.

While it’s the US tech darlings like the Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) share price that ended up with the bloodiest noses, today’s sell-off on the ASX is likely to be widespread.

ASX copper miners on verge of surge?
The only real piece of good news for Aussie investors to sink their teeth into is a report of a looming copper shortage.

The global copper market could be on the verge of a historic supply squeeze, reported Bloomberg.

The squeeze is being triggered by strong Chinese demand for the red metal and depleting inventories, which plunged to their lowest levels in more than 10 years.

ASX copper underperformer to benefit more
Some experts are forecasting a surge in copper prices and some are even comparing what’s happening now to the early 2000s. Back then, Chinese buyers emptied warehouses of metal exchanges and sent copper rallying to record highs.

While its peer, the OZ Minerals Limited (ASX: OZL) share price hits new record highs, Sandfire is lagging behind due to its lower quality projects. It’s the more marginal players that tend to benefit more when commodity prices surge.

Mining giants like the BHP Group Ltd (ASX: BHP) share price will also benefit from the copper bull market. But it’s the pure copper miners like Sandfire that are most leveraged to the industrial metal.

Squeezed by high demand and low supply
Chinese demand for copper is growing as its factories ramp up as the world reopens from the COVID-19 shutdown.

China’s Caixin manufacturing purchasing managers’ index for August hit its highest reading since January 2011.

Citigroup believes that copper could hit US$8,000 a ton, which is more than US$1,000 higher than the current price, reported Bloomberg. Copper’s record price is $10,190 a ton.

On the other hand, supply at warehouses is likely to stay lower for longer due to the ongoing disruption to supply chains. There is also a hint of panic hoarding by copper users around the world.

I visited S Korea last year touring SAU.ASX. These are legit Jurassic epithermal systems. It will be worth monitoring drill results.

Sandfire banks on growth as copper recovers

Sandfire Resources is well positioned to take advantage of a recovery in copper prices, which have improved by 35 per cent since the lows experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic this year.

The company enters the new financial year having completed a full year of production from the Monty copper-gold mine, part of the DeGrussa operations in Western Australia.

Monty contributed to an exceptional overall performance at DeGrussa, which produced 72,238 tonnes of copper and 42,263 ounces of gold.

Internationally, Sandfire is preparing to release feasibility study results for the T3 copper-silver project in Botswana and its fully permitted Black Butte copper project in the United States.

Sandfire is also planning to post a maiden resource for the A4 discovery in Botswana, located just eight kilometres from the T3 project.

Managing director Karl Simich said this strong performance and the company’s exciting development pipeline positioned it for a “very bright and exciting future”.

“Much has changed within the business over the past 18 months and there is considerable energy and excitement as we embrace the challenges and opportunities involved in building an international growth pipeline,” Simich said.

“The onset of COVID-19 has forced a number of changes and adjustments to our operating procedures and I am proud of the professional and focussed response from our people across the organisation in adapting to this new environment.

“We finished the year with an impressive cash balance of almost $300 million and no debt, after making substantial investments in our future growth pipeline.

Simich said the next few months would be pivotal for Sandfire as the company put detail and timelines around its key international development projects.
