Mining investment group Metal Tiger shot higher after a company they have a stake in decided to spend £194million to pursue a new project in Botswana.

Sandfire Resources will develop an area, that studies show holds promising amounts of copper and silver, on a copper belt that runs through the Kalahari Desert.

Sandfire reckons it could generate an extra £1.8billion in revenue over the mine’s lifespan. Shares jumped 8.1 per cent, or 2.05p, to 27.3p.
