Even if it were the case and I don’t believe it is , you could employ a local barrister, pay them well and use a specialised firm for all the heavy lifting on a no win no fee basis as consultants. There will be many jurisdictions where a local front is employed for a variety of reasons.

Hanging on RNSs is only going to frustrate. Assuming Dublin haven’t positively engaged then PRED will be in the process of engaging an agent. They’ll need to study the proposal, agree terms , prepare the preliminaries and pull the trigger. I would expect an RNS when formalities begin. All the while conversations with the government would be possible.surely. It’s no small step but if the alternative is to be unjustly left with a stranded asset then what else can they do.
