Instead of paying £half a billion a day to Russia for oil and gas, which they spend on invading and killing people, the western world should spend it on nuclear power. Even if every reactor in the world melted down today, you still wouldn't kill as many people as Russia has just in the last week.

Add calculated corrupt subversive and illegal to that.

The legal actions (the administrative appeal in Spain and defending SGRF's attempts to set aside the funding agreement) will move this share forward, to permitting or compensation.
The delay consequent upon the unlawful nature of CSN2 and permit denial is what's holding it back.

Hopefully realisation's dawning that nuclear power and uranium mining makes sense politically, environmentally, economically, basically whichever way you look at it.

I fear nuclear closure is too far advanced in Germany, and their Greens are implacable over nuclear, and will effectively call the shots. That said I think I'm right in saying Spain's nuclear power programme has another 5 ish years to run, so it would perhaps be easier for them to change course, and perhaps by extension permit the mine in time.

The mistake the Germans have made is to close down nuclear before hydrocarbons, and overrely on renewables, which are insufficient. Now they're big emitters, and moreover reliant on Russian gas, coal and imports.

Yes this needs an investigative journalist on the case.

We must trust that the lawyers have in place a watertight mechanism to see this through to timely receipt of cleared funds. I'm sure they do. This is GOI so delay is baked in (GOdelayI). Just patience required now imo.

To work out how close we are to funding/sale and the shape it will take, perhaps the question to ask is what would FIG have needed to see (and indeed what did they actually see) to grant the extension to Dec. Any ideas or insights into how it works down there?

Chairman's statement 30/9/21:

The current phase of the Company's Falkland Islands Production Licences (PL018, PL019, PL020) and its Discovery Area Licence are due to expire at the end of January 2022. An application has been submitted to the Falkland Islands Executive Council requesting an extension to all licences. As part of the approval process the Company will have to demonstrate that it can meet its financial obligations under the terms of the licences.

Licences expiring end Jan, so something's got to happen soon. Nice to see someone thinks it's worth buying BOR shares at last, even if it's just a punt on a possible sale or farm in.

Last year's early trading update (including for the Christmas 2020 period) arrived on 20 Jan 2021.

So we can presumably expect a trading update imminently (including Christmas 2021). Maybe there's expectation building, or a leak. Could be good news coming.

That quote I posted earlier was the outlook dated 18 Oct 2021 btw (not 2020).

Christmas is our key trading period and all of our efforts will focus on keeping our customers in stock at all times. We are working closely with manufacturers and suppliers to maintain continuity against ongoing uncertainties regarding hauliers' ability to attract a sufficient number of drivers.



Given ongoing supply chain challenges and uncertain timelines for the resumption of normal activity levels it is difficult to forecast with accuracy and certainty for the second half of the year. Market guidance will be released following our key Christmas trading period.



If the UK remains lockdown-free throughout this period, social gatherings at home and enjoyment of the On Trade will help facilitate a return to normal trading/activity levels. Our brands across the portfolio are well positioned and supported to enjoy growth in line with this.

Anderson buying again maybe? Looks promising, worth a punt imo. Commodity prices and futures strong, and a bod with good experience and free hands who should be able to identify and deliver a decent natural resources project acquisition.
Good downside protection with directors taking options not salary to preserve cash, the major shareholder buying recently, and like you say legacy asset divestment to come. And retained losses to offset against tax going forward. Lots to like.
