As a consequence of the Corrib gas field declining in the medium term, and in the absence of any new find of natural gas, Ireland’s natural gas supplies are expected to be almost entirely supplied by UK imports by 2030. While, by the mid-2030s natural gas supply will be increasingly replaced with renewable gases further reducing overall natural gas demand levels, there is a period as part of this transition where Ireland is largely reliant on U.K. gas imports
