I don't want to join in the speculation of how the markets, PoG, inflation, etc commentary; because in my opinion then it will be what it will be and I can't change that. The only thing I can only change is my investment strategy, to suit me.
Just to clarify my point of view; I'm not against balanced discussion with some negative facts about the economy, PoG, etc that are backed up by research, but if you are truly invested in this share then you have to remain positive and ride out the rough periods; otherwise whats the point of being invested if you only think the share is not going to do well, you're only contradicting your investment thinking - so IMO there is no room for direct GGP doom posts.
Desj - you mean QueenMidas ? either she thought she was found out and has taken a back seat or was actually genuine and got upset at some of the comments; although she made out she could handle herself having come through a hard time, so surely she could ignore those who posted against her.
Also as it's results week then we will see the subtle influencers pop up, all seemingly positive to get themselves into the sound of the crowd and when the opportunity arises they will sow their seed of doubt. Maybe we'll have guest appearances from Southwesterner and BigSexy.
PS: for any youngsters on the board who might not be familiar with old cartoons, then Wile E Coyote is the hapless baddie in the Roadrunner cartoons and he would always have sly and cunning plans to catch Roadrunner (for dinner) but always failed in his attempts - classic cartoons in their day but even now they'd still be funny; but of course there would be some PC brigade against them because of the 'violence'.

Spy - The doom spreader is already in this thread which has the context for them to continue with their agenda started yesterday. There's always a wolf in sheep's clothing when they subtly comment "Unfortunately this means that stocks like GGP will not be the beneficiary".
We will probably see more subtle doubt spreading posts from Betterdisruptthem over the next few days in the run up to the results on Wednesday Night, so let's all try not to encourage him/her, please.
IMO, you can spot the sly types, especially when their posting history is short and simple and they just seem to pop up every week or so to post a post on the board, but it’s generally always a new thread to draw people in – when you see only 1 out of 39 posts is actually a reply in another thread, then you have to question their posting style. To me, it’s a classic psychological influencer who starts out all positive but then you see posts starting to have a slight negative twist with the simple plan to sow doubt.
Maybe Grandad (RIP) passed on 100k shares, to this poster, but I find it a bit strange that 3 weeks later they’re making their ‘first purchase’ without any mention that they would be adding or topping up the current holding of 100k shares. Maybe it's just the way I see their posts, but up to everyone to make their own mind up; I would suggest not to get drawn in by this poster in future, or just filter them.

Daz - Good to see you working and earning in the current times and good to see you topping up when you can; and certainly a good opportunity for you to be averaging down after buying in the 30's.
Hopefully you got your ISA sorted out also.
Silverhorse - When you post on here then I find it hard to keep a straight face and I hate to do it but yet again I have to highlight your inconsistencies.
So today - 5th March - you have decided to but into GGP - "Hi stebo - I was going to buy BIRG @3.37 this morining but decided to buy GGP because it hit my near target buying price - my clairvoyant girlfriend tells me it will hit 44p 9th june"
But yesterday you thought GGP was a loser ?
silverhorse Posted in: BIRG RE: BOI 04 Mar 2021 10:13
The danger is when there is a bid what will i do with all the funds - Put some in GGP then lose it all
In your historical posts then you make out your an expert in buying shares and your timing is spot on but now you're telling us that you buy shares because your clairvoyant girlfriend tells you what the share price will be at a future date !! Any chance she can give me the Euromillions lottery numbers for this evening ?
I've now just finished a nice cup of tea and looking at the leaves in the bottom of cup then it tells me that you actually make yourself look silly because you can't be consistent with your posts !!
The way I see it is that if you were happy buying in at any price up to 37p (as I done myself a few times) then why be worried about the price at present time. Yes maybe some or all of your holding could be in the red at the present time but the main reason you were buying is because you know the Company has a stake in a Tier 1 Gold mine, they have other good looking assets; from your research you should understand they have a good future and you believe you will get a good return on your investment within a few years.
The fundamentals have not changed, so why should your thinking change; have the patience and hold for gold.
Stay patient, stay invested, stay safe
Speedy - lol, I'm assuming your words could be in relation to my post in the other thread. As I said, I was not criticising you for the post (as you do know the PM stuff) and it actually it does not cause me distress; I was just thinking of it within the overall context of my post and how board members are feeling with the SP, silly posts, arguments, etc; so IMO then reading that the PoG could go down to $1400 and possibly bring the SP down with it could have maybe added to the already low sentiment some people have.
I'm holding strong as I'm here for the long term, so no worries on my part. When I can, then I will take the opportunity to top up and if my other 'dreamchaser share' eventually (ever) gets to a sale price then I will be cashing in and bringing the money here, if the SP is still at a bargain price.
IMO, I just think it's a bit of despondency creeping into the board for various factors:-
- the massive SP drop that now been mill stoning it to the low 20's
- members with paper losses - it doesn't matter if that's 2 figures, 6 figures or whatever; been down on your investment can affect your mood
- too much impatience and frustration which is manifesting onto the board with many whinging, suspicious, derisory, aggressive or doom mongering posts
- lack of positivity because of the above 3 points but also people wary to post super positive (rampy style) posts after the Scally build up and JoeBass type posts (that did actually draw people in and ended up in disappointment)
- the PoG not doing too well and combined with a post saying PoG could go as low as $1400 then it doesn't instill confidence and happiness in people for the short term future (not criticising the poster as they're only stating as they see it)
- and general just lack of sentiment and some boredom, causing a domino effect on members - so when people stop posting for some of the reasons above then others follow suit.
Hopefully, with the upcoming results and a full program of works starting to ramp up from March onwards then we will seem some positivity - stay patient, stay invested, stay safe
Yo, Mickey, when you gonna dust off the old tombola drum and give it a spin, so you can give us an approximate estimated near to the mark nailed on SP re-rate?
Not being pushy but it's months since your last real one - unless you're going to stick to that casual off the cuff £3.20 you mentioned in February ?? lol
Mush, remember UK Covid rules when meeting people it's "hands, face, space" so I think a space of at least 2km from any lingering Hedge Fund Managers would be adequate; then you don't need to speak to them face to face or be tempted to shake hands !
(km used in respect of local Country units of measure)
Everyone - if you go to the Newcrest Website - Investor Centre, then you can find out the dates in there:-

Impec - maybe I should have put a smiley face at the end to signify I was being a bit cheeky.
Yes, great to see the board flowing with good conversation and a nice feel of harmony and happiness. But Spy is right, the SP needs a boot in the ar5e and let's see some proper action, instead of all this faffing around these low 20's !!
