"Truly worried for Lloyds prospects as sadly Labour due to the above, are imo likely to get in next time"
It's unlikely I'll vote for anyone at the next election, but to say I'm disappointed with the Conservative party is an understatement. The Tories have gone too far with their free market policies and allowed other countries to take advantage. You only need to look at the number of utilities bought up by European based companies, or the fact that our national airline is owned by a Spanish company, or that US tech comes in and mops up any upstart company's who are truly innovative, leaving the dross on the shelf. Microsoft recently purchased a UK based Hollow Core Fibre manufacturer, called Lumenisity, why aren't companies like that being purchased by UK entities? Probably because Government policies suck the life out of UK based large caps and diminish them over time; You'd think a Telecom company, like BT, would buy up a Hollow Core Fibre company, but the UK free market policies have eroded BT's financial power and limited their ability to invest big in anything like Lumenisity,. Britishvolt went bust and have been taken over by Australian firm Recharge Industries; Originally Britishvolt was looking at producing batteries to support a UK EV industry, but its new focus will apparently be on Batteries to support renewables, like windfarm storage facilities, so a big dent in any UK ambitions for a home EV manufacturing industry. I blame the Government, since they're the overall managers of the economy and the various regulatory bodies, it's about time they changed their focus from finance and into building strong UK manufacturing and tech industries, and supporting UK based large cap service providers, but they'll probably just fiddle while Rome burns and let others take advantage of their lethargic zero risk mentality, preventing a drive for real change. They should prevent UK financed startups from listing abroad, where they've received Government grants. It's in my nature to be an optimist, but I hate the direction this country has taken.
Just to finish, I'm not worried about my Lloyds investment, since I view Lloyds as being well undervalued.
