Mikey, why do you feel the need to give a running commentary on the price action? People can see what the price is day by day, week by week, year by year, simply by looking at charts; So what are you hoping to achieve by pointing out the obvious?

Since we've been discussing pensions, I thought I'd chart the difference between a pension capped at 4.235%, like mine, and an assumed inflation rate of 10% per year over an uncapped Pension over 20 years. I used £18,000 as the starting year.

What's immediately noticeable is how a capped pension is far more linear than an uncapped pension. If inflation isn't controlled it wouldn't take very long for capped pensioners to be plunged into poverty.

It's easier to let him get it off his chest, and ignore the majority of his posts where you disagree. My personal opinion is that Vodafone is cheap, but I do believe the dividend is at risk and the appointment of a new CEO is dragging on; They should either announce Margherita della Valle as the new permanent CEO, or explain why it's taking so long to find Nick Read's replacement. Hopefully they'll clarify everything by the AGM in July,

The pension deficit is hard to guess, higher interest rates will have reduced the Asset values, but the Liabilities will have also reduced. Also much will depend on how good a job the Trustees have done with their LDI strategy and whether they had to sell assets at a loss due to any cash calls during the LDI debacle.

Hmmmm, where did I say I was upset? It's ok for people to express opinions, but to directly tell people to take a specific course of action is clearly wrong. I don't worry about my investments, since I consider my capital to be safe long term.

I had a look at the Sanderson response letter and the Publication Document and it definitely gives the impression that "apparatus comprising a message schedular having processing circuitry" is involved. Does this mean a Mining rig manufacturer would have to incorporate extra hardware into their equipment, at the manufacturing stage, with offering's similar to other AsicBoost enabled rigs like the Antminer S9, or the Dragonmint 16T?

From memory I was under the impression QBT were saying that the Message Scheduler would be hard programmed into an ASIC, but I can't currently access the relevant Patent Office pages relating to the QBT application.

Personally I was extremely disappointed with the way Lloyds used the PRA Covid dividend suspensions to permanently suspend the dividend and then debase it, but we've been through all this in previous threads, so why are we flogging it to death over and over and over again? Shouldn't this one but put onto the dealt with pile?

There has to be a lower limit for a stock price decline, unless a company is insolvent. Even if VOD drop the dividend, which is entirely possible, the best thing current holders could do is hunker down and ride it out. I thought VOD wouldn't hold long under £1, but here we are around 90p, so there's a pretty good chance the market has already priced in a dividend cut and any drop from here is likely to be short lived.

It's Vodafone, not Vodaphone lol, it gets a little frustrating to see the incorrect spelling after a while,

The chance of that is virtually zero. Some possible outcomes for Openreach, could be BT holding onto 49% and either floating around 49% on the stock market, with a few percent put into Escrow, or they could sell 49% to venture capital/DT/Drahi. I can't imagine BT relinquishing full ownership of Openreach, since Openreach are/will be the company managing and maintaining BT's access network. There's nothing to suggest BT would have to unload their entire ownership of Openreach, as long as Openreach is fully independent of BT control. Also financially, BT wouldn't need to raise capital through a full sale of Openreach since Openreach is worth around £20 Billion alone and BT's financial debt is currently sitting around £13 Billion.

Are ramping up their rhetoric, should probably be interpreted as a buy signal.

Ok, 1 million Qubit's is advertised as the number required to complete useful Quantum computing tasks; Various sources are now saying that they can perfect error/noise suppression to bring the number of required Qubits down from 1 million to 10,000; If they're correct, then they'll still have to perfect these systems and develop them for commercial sales and even if all this is correct and everything rolls out over the next couple of years, and your 300 Qubit figure is correct, a 300 Qubit computer would probably cost somewhere in the region of $3 Million. Personally, I think it's wildly optimistic to believe that viable commercially useful Quantum computers will be available before 2030, whether that's a 300, 10,000, 1,000,000 Qubit computers.

A lot of money is being ploughed into Quantum computer hardware, and the capability to connect multiple Qubit processors is indeed a breakthrough, but it's still unlikely we'll see a 1 million Qubit commercial Quantum computers until the 2030's, also it's likely the purchase prices will be stratospheric and even booking time on these machines will be extremely expensive.

They actually said "full-scale commercialisation of quantum computing is unlikely to happen before 2027", that isn't the same as saying it'll be available by 2027. That's a super optimistic date for useful 1 million Qubit Quantum computers being commercially available.

Jambone, any luck finding articles backing up your assertion, based on what FG said, that viable Quantum computers are only a few years away?

I'm also still awaiting a response from Bitcoinbull, on any good uses for Bitcoin.

He would put a positive spin on it, since he's talking his own book. Everything I've read suggests the first Million Qubit computers will arrive by around 2030, so I think me stating a decade for commercial Quantum computers is being extremely optimistic, since the very first million Qubit computers wont be used for trivial things like Bitcoin mining.
I f you can find anything suggesting commercial Quantum computing will be available within a few years, then post a link to it and I'll give my opinion.

Viable commercial Quantum computing is probably at least 10 years away, disregard the hype.
Quantum computer time will likely be precious, when the first Million Qubit computers become available, so computer time will likely be used for projects that actually benefit mankind.
A true Quantum computer will render the current crop of blockchain encryption useless, so Bitcoin is unlikely to survive such an event, therefore Quantum Bitcoin mining using SHA256 would be a pointless exercise.
I think you can safely disregard any Quantum investment case for QBT, since Quantum computers will be a double edged sword in respect of speeding up Bitcoin mining, but rendering SHA256 useless.
