Analyst View: Improvements and optimisation in Goldplat’s operations and supply lines are beginning to pay dividends. With a robust and strong gold price environment, despite recent dips in price, we expect this to be another good year for Goldplat. We also expect a resolution to the sale of Kilimapesa, which will see Goldplat with either $1.5m in cash or $1.75m of shares in the purchaser.

Highlight :Recovery operations achieved a combined operating profit for the six months ended 31 December 2020 of £3,042,000 (31 December 2019: £2,810,000). Within this, the South African operation achieved an operating profit of £2,200,000 (31 December 2019: £2,659,000) and the Ghana operation increased operating profitability by more than 5-fold to £842,000 (31 December 2019: £151,000)

TEK’s market cap is currently trading at an ~15% discount to its last reported NAV. With the number of portfolio company developments achieved so far this year, we believe TEK stock remains undervalued. We continue to expect a re-rating of the shares once some key near-term milestones are achieved - this translates into a Buy rating.

Today’s results support Rainbow’s ambition to raise production to 10,000–20,000tpa of rare earths in concentrates at Gakara. The move to mechanise and upscale the Gakara mine should result in a significant increase in sales. This combined with higher Neodymium and Praseodymium prices should see a significant turnaround in the profitability of the operation.

Our take: A positive update for Predator, underlining the continued recognition of long-term energy requirements offshore Ireland. The Company’s practical operational experience and extensive data gathered to date during CO2 injection are valuable assets to assist policy makers in framing future legislation and regulation of CO2 sequestration from an environmental and investment perspective.

IOOA welcomes today's renewed commitment by the Irish Government to honour existing
licences issued by the State for oil and gas. This will enable our members will proceed with
projects around Barryroe and Corrib fields with confidence.
We question the rationale for a future ban on exploration on a legislative basis as it limits
Ireland's options for energy security in the future.
We remain dedicated to promoting and facilitating Government and regulatory support for
infrastructure led exploration, ensuring existing infrastructure at Corrib, Kinsale and Barryroe
are optimised. To facilitate such developments, we will work with regulators to develop more
efficient and transparent permitting processes. In addition, and in line with our industry’s
commitment to the transition toward a lower carbon society, we will actively promote the
development of enabling legislation and supports in the areas of CCS and Hydrogen with
policy makers and at official level.
Working together, our members will endeavour to make a valuable contribution to the
national energy dialogue and play an important role in the development of the Irish offshore
industry and Ireland’s sustainable energy future.
Through IOOA’s engagements with national and regional stakeholders we will demonstrate
the role Irish oil and gas has to play in our evolving society and economy. The State has
guaranteed to progress the existing offshore licences issued to our members in previous
licencing rounds.
