The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
The problem is, how do we know it is top of the tree technology that self learns? This recent news just casts doubt over the honesty of Darktrace claims. If they keep winning big clients and retaining them, I think that's the only way to counteract this sort of media coverage. I think it's going to take a bit of time unfortunately. (Not helped by insiders undermining the price by selling at 450ish, which to me suggests they think it's not worth that much)
There's always a risk investing in growth companies, but where do you begin trying to anticipate a Telegraph article popping up and firing a torpedo? I don't even see what Darktrace can do in response. It's too late to clear out the dead wood staff and board members tainted by Autonomy. I'm taking it all as a lesson learned - don't invest in UK growth/tech... Still, need to hold this and hope it turns around.
I'd close my short, get a journalist friend to fabricate good news on a Friday afternoon, wait for the pump on Monday morning and open a new short.
Sadly I think this is the kind of thing us private investors might be up against.
Cor! We've blasted to levels not seen since Tuesday!
I'm being sarcastic of course, but it feels so nice to be able to afford to make light of the situation for once. Let's see it blast up to Monday's levels next. Good luck all
Doesn't Boohoo typically charge for delivery? Postage for a £5 cardigan would be £3.99 when I check the Boohoo site, so that instantly torpedoes your argument. Not many customers are only buying a single low value item either!
It is useful having some deramping voices on here, but it is harmful where it crosses the line of being ?clearly disingenuous.
A nice steady start to the week but I really feel this needs the fresh impetus of yaf4e reappearing with a prediction of this going to 280 and then this will really motor towards 350.
I'm always right. Thank me later.
