As Kist's share price increases, the terms of the offer can stay the same but the value is increased. But of course that assumes Kist's share price remains the same after the deal is done. It seems to me that the offer is made in return for Kist shares and then those shares fall immediately after the deal is done giving us SQZ shareholders a less valuable deal. It makes me think the Kist rise is manufactured and we are being taken for fools.
At what point does Kists offer become attractive! No proper reflection of value in the SP so no wonder we got a cheeky offer. Problem is SP is still significantly under the offer price so the offer can’t be said to be unreasonable
Although I don’t like the offer there does come a point where a takeover/merger becomes attractive as it puts me out of my misery complaining every day how the share price doesn’t reflect value
i am a little bemused by the marker reaction here. An offer has been made for the Co of £3.82 and all analysts and, reading between the lines, even Kist think undervalues the company, yet we are still only at £3.40. Surely the approach is the kick up the backside the share needs to go back to at least £4 and then see what develops. Its all well and good everyone saying Serica is undervalued but if the shareprice never reflects that, someone will come along and buy us on the "cheap" anyway.
As a Serica shareholder i am happy to make my views known on the offer. It is terrible, significantly undermines the true value of the company and in truth is an insult and a try on.
How much is Serica worth? i don't know but with in excess of £400m cash it is a hell of a lot more than £4, possibly double that.
Need a meeting (no date given) need then to provide the information (no timescale given) then 30 days to make a decision
Where does that leave us? Christmas? But which year
7 months since the application was made and counting. Absolutely pathetic they could get a job in government such is their incompetence
If Gas prices are through the roof how are we down 4% and 7% on the day high? What is happening? The sooner we get to parity between cash and share price the sooner i can be put in a straight jacket and carted away so i don't have to look at this crap any more
To make it clear for myself 50% of the current price is covered by cash
I wonder if we will ever get to parity between cash and share value not totally out of the realms of possibility the way the market treats this share and oil and gas shares generally
Ha ha now that would be too much to ask
Clearly wasted my time waiting for the divi selling yesterday and then buying in today would have produced the same or better result
This share just doesn’t deliver the returns the finances suggest it should
Unloved share and unloved sector
I must admit I’m losing a bit of patience here held for the dividend before reviewing my position and in the interim have lost more than 25% of value. Big mistake in hindsight £4.20 looks a really good price now. WFT put a real downer on the share price and just don’t see what is going to get us back up except just pure cash accumulation until cash equals a share price of £4 plus but that could take a year or more . Would welcome a takeover at anything above £4 as would put me out of my misery and allow me to move on
