RE: 300,000 Tonnes Li Production Target5 Jan 2021 08:46
A post to Vladooo on HC :
?Technically you are correct vladooo 10 kg of Li , however , EMH is not producing lithium , it will be carbonate and / or hydroxide .
?Here is the fact : A 70kWh Tesla battery uses 63kg of Lithium Carbonate Li2CO3, of which 19% or 12kg is Lithium.
?And here is the conversion table on the bottom of every EMH announcement :??Table: Conversion Factors for Lithium Compounds and MineralsConvert from Convert to Li Convert to Li2O Convert to Li2CO3 Convert to LiOH.H2OLithium Li 1.000 2.153 5.325 6.048Lithium Oxide Li2O 0.464 1.000 2.473 2.809Lithium Carbonate Li2CO3 0.188 0.404 1.000 1.136Lithium Hydroxide LiOH.H2O 0.165 0.356 0.880 1.000Lithium Fluoride LiF 0.268 0.576 1.424 1.618?
So I hope you understand the maths now that I have used , I used 40 kg per vehicle and have just been advised i should be using 50 kg now as the battery ranges are longer now . So in a pinch the headline should read 375,000 tonnes and if I use 63 kg above for Tesla our vision is 472,500 tonnes . All I can say is that is a lot of blue sky moving forward .
