This is how I view this saga for what its worth.

Companies all had debts and some were in mid-takeovers and then COVID HIT.....globally

Covid - was nobody fault. Forced closures by goverments.

Cineplex case judgement - judge to blame, and cineplex greed and possible lack of vision of outcome. Cineworld will be negotiating with Cineplex right now about reducing their claim significantly - that should reduce the amount significantly or recieve zero. They should nake an announcement, that would increase the sp in a shot.

Lack of hollywood blockbuster films - covid to blame
New blockbuster movies set to hit screens November onwards.

Creditors need to accept 50% haircuts, and won’t be the first.

Cine closes a few lowest profitable cinemas.
Regal could be sold
Numerous New cine cinemas in the development process will open within next 6months which will help bring up revenues.

8 weeks to november, is not far off.

The whole court case, makes a great case-study for the future.
If MICROSOFT can save APPLE, 20 years ago.

CINE and PLEX and creditors can work this out, it will go down in history.

CEO’s....
Sort it out, and you will be remembered for the greater good in your industry, in your sector and the geographic nations involved, and the thousands of livlihoods saved.

Lead, negotiate, compromise, shake hands and most of all learn from this.
A book should be written by both CEO’s, in the future, (only if they save each other!).
Microsoft, Bill Gates supported Apple, rather than become arch enemies, so can CINE and PLEX. It is just money and livlihoods, if the 2 guru’s can do it, so can others.

The settlement only happened dec-21, not even 9months have passed.

When the settlement was announced, the market cap at cine was already known to be lower than the award itself, and the companies still emerging from covid. Revenues were mere forecasts.

The cineplex needs this money, its shareholders willd demand cooperation , even if £200m within next 12months, would be something for company.

Can’t make this up.

To put it subtle, when we hit 1.8p, we closed up 4.6p same afternoon.

In my view these type of cases should not be allowed under covid type situations, rules will chnage, and new clauses will be put in place, to protect buyers also. Easy money for cineplex. Easy go, if they don’t play ball now.
