Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Thanks Ophidian. That is most helpful. I was expecting a RNS sometime this week but, having read your timeline I certainly won’t panic if one isn't forthcoming.
In any event I’m in for the long haul although it’s interesting keeping abreast of the different agendas evident on this board. The bottom feeders and scavengers won’t be getting my shares anytime soon, that’s for sure!
The rush to get a CV19 test product to market is proving detrimental to the reputation of many companies. Taking unreliable tests to market without the necessary research, clinical trials and regulatory approval puts short term profits before long term credibility.
In my view Avacta will never take this route as there are too many other potential income streams that would be jeopardised. Besides Alistair Smith isn’t that type.
Patience is the key for everyone on here. Avacta will take their one chance to get it right and investors will be rewarded. The share price will fluctuate while we await news. But Im looking to the long term and investing in a company that has a solid future based on expertise, ground breaking research and absolute integrity.
Just listened to it. This is a new virus and there will be others. Despite the warm words about working collaboratively nobody was giving much away. The learnings from this will help tests for other new viruses. There was far too much concentration on the problems / negatives and not enough around the solutions but then why let the competition know where you’re at in terms of product development.
Major supply chain issues in component parts for the test. Lack of manufacturing capacity and expertise re production of LFT both further very major issues to overcome. Will need to out source production but very limited number of players in this space. Rushed science is usually bad science. This will take time. Accuracy is essential to ensure product confidence and regulatory approval.
Is it doable? he asks I think so said Klaus. I KNOW it is said Wilson. Inferring we’ve done it.
So my take of issues in order
1 getting an accurate test that works.
2. Obtaining data using test results that are accurate enough to gain regulatory approval
3 Production. Sourcing component parts and manufacturing quantity and while quality.
4. Marketing and distribution.
So that’s about it. David Wilson was straight but didn’t pull any rabbits from any hats. For me it’s back to Alistair Smith comments re month end.
I hope he delivers.
The only thing to do is trust your own judgement. Some of the derampers points are valid. That’s a fact. I expected a fall today. It wasn’t that difficult to predict. You either believe in the company or you don’t. I consider myself an investor, not a trader and I’m holding. See you all next month.
Si547 I totally agree. They can’t possibly act in the best interests of GMS shareholders when they represent a company intent on a hostile takeover. Cuckoos in the nest spring to mind.
The board need the support of a majority of shareholders. But I fear that if Seafox who are getting close to 30% can entice a couple of big holders to back them things could become impossible for the board to operate effectively.
Nice post Craig. I’d love to meet the person who bought low sold at £2 and then bought back in at £1.20. That would be an unbelievable achievement. I’m relatively new too and got in here in mid March. There’s some really decent people posting here who are keen to help. But as you rightly point out there are serious dangers. The first is taking everything on here at face value. The second is the disgruntled wife of a failed investor. No matter how positive you feel don’t risk more than you can easily afford to lose and look after your goolies.
Thanks for the advice BRB I’ll ignore it, continue to keep an eye on this and keep my chunky holding in AVCT.
Cheers Roy. I took a punt and bought and sold the same day for a wee profit of £180. Still down £320 but I’m working on it.
Strangely I’m still hopeful of a break even as I think the RTO will work out. If I can get out of this one with a clean pair of heels I’d be delighted.
Yes me. I read bobby F’s opinion with interest. His helpful contributions certainly make a difference to a newbie like me. Also as he’s no holding doesn’t have an agenda either. Whether anyone on here ever makes a difference to the actual SP is another matter entirely. But thanks Bobby.
