Some truth in all the replies below:

- everyone knows that cad do performance is ahead of cad free - it has been studied for much much longer in the labs and more is known
- Samsung have had their cake and truly scoffed it by marketing cad free but also stealing Nanoco's IPO (IMO) - and will surely get their comeuppance next year
- the industry as a whole is driven by vested interests and inertia which makes a mockery of the RoHS - always too many shifting horizons and exemptions

I am interested by devlopments in sensors but how many of these companies are going to be peddling heavy metal / cadmium versions of QD tech and hold.back on cad free when it comes to making their reps to the regulators? That includes STM doesnt it?

A question best left to the scientists really but I was under the impression Nanoco's infra red /sensing QD tech was beat suited to industrial applications not AV. Both huge growing markets though.

Yes one to avoid but for balance amerloque it was possible to buy and sell for a c.600% gain around the time of the Pasaca Capital/ Health ID deal. I already had a few and made the decision to sell out as I was not confident of the company's long term propsects but then just missed the boat - about 2 hours later it was suspended beforw I sold - chronic bad luck story.

Boiling this down to simplistics..... Nanoco's argument is like saying no-one would ever think to exclude crude oil from a cake recipe...

Totally agree amerloque. This company IP is seriously undervalued. Biding my time as I aam always happy to do, for the right business. European bureaucracy irks me too. It cannot all be straight, but it is much the same everywhere.

The first paper on the list is a surprise to me (I expected Imec and SWIR vision systems for example, being known pioneers/active drivers in this area): ST presents a Quantum dot global shutter imager? This could be the real start of SWIR image sensing in high volume!

I agree Tekked and missedthepenny. I winced when I saw Placing for £3m .... but then read it and thought "ok". As AIM goes, it is not too shabby at all.

Have I misinterpreted? Forgive me because your original post was full of obfuscation, and now too your latest retort. So getting back to the sole issue of planning that you and I had both commented on, what do you consider is imponderable. I sure that I can put your mind at rest.

Your original post was about the prospects of the company making a successful planning appeal, and my post addressed only that issue. Your reply refers to a lot of other commercial ( and confidential) issues which have nothing to do with the merits of an appeal, or my post. I don't expect company Directors of any company to divulge Board level information on their commercial strategy and nor should you.

Persi, you refer to "imponderables" which need to be resolved on the planning side, but I cannot detect any. The council's refusal notice is explicit as to the grounds on which permission was refused, and these things can be measured - e.g. visual impact; effect on roads due to volume of HGV traffic. Members of the committee felt that those factors outweighed the strong presumption in national policy, which is supportive of the proposals. That's a difficult argument for the council to run on appeal - or rather it will be difficult for the officers to construct a cogent case especially given they do not share those views themselves.

Why do they go for such crap flavours in the US....? I have tried the Sour cream and chive, which is probably the last flavour crisps I'd ever want to eat, along with chicken. The crisps themselves were nice.
